Opinions on painted wheels...and a chop if anyone wants...

I was thinking about painting my stockers either white or bronze with that Duplicolor wheel paint, any suggestions about the color? I had white wheels on my white Cavi and really liked em.

Chop anyone?

Do them black, that would look sweet with the black accents on the car and the blacked out windows, or even a gunmetal. Just my opinion, I may be biased lol..

here is a quick chop. the side pic wasnt the best for chopping white onto the wheels, as the lighting isn't very good, but I think you'll get the idea...

Personally, not a big fan of either on the cobalt, but the bronze would definitely pop more than the white.

I'm not really a fan of white wheels or bronze, but if you must do one or the other I would say bronze...

if you want to paint those, trade me wheels and paint the gunmetal ones instead...(if they were 18's)

Duplicolor is a garbage product and will not stand the test of time. More importantly, painting over polished aluminum is very difficult because it is such a smoothe and fine finish, it is very difficult to get the paint to bite.

Sanding and Elbow Grease is your friend.. you need to sand just about any surface before painting, to get the paint to adhere properly.

paint em bronze but do em in the style like Hatrickstu did with his black ones....talk to him, i think he painted over the polished wheels. either that, or he polished the hell out of the gunmetal ones.

if you go bronze you might as well get spoked rims. hahaha. that's just all i can think of when i see bronze. I really think the white would look great on a white car. You could even throw in a black ring on the lip of the rim. that would pop. as for painting polished rims EvlPeanut is right. you have to sand every little nook and cranny. lots of elbow grease. when your finished you might as well go ahead and sand it one more time for good measure.

Just my .02 good luck with whatever you pick.
