Official 2008 SS/TC shipping news
Ahhhh well I dunno I told my dealer that since I paid for mine already I wanted it fast as possible, he got the inventory chick to call and they rushed it...like no joke got here in a week flat.
My sales guy called me today. He told me that they still have no idea when the car is coming. My dealership is really getting pissed off by the fact that the factory is taking their sweet time with the cars. My sale guy said that he is going to have his manager of sales and manager for inventory call their general manager for MN and find out what he or she can do for me. It has been three weeks of taking a taxi every where. I told them it’s not a quality hold any more. I’m calling it a recall!! If they agree that it is a recall then I have a warranty with this new car and they can give me a loaner till my car shows up. It’s called

My sales guys had the nerve to tell me there are no 08 SS cobalts on the road yet. They were ALL on hold due to the SUPERCHARGER... what a clueless dude, sorry, but get a clue and stop ******* around with my money.
I threatened to cancel today. He pretty much begged me to give him two more days.

Chevy appears to have a **** poor method of communication with dealers.
I found a place just down the road from my work that has one in their inventory.
I talked to my dealer about it, maybe they can work something out and get it transfered. I just don't want to loose my 2.9% financing though.

Pretty much the same story for a lot of people it sounds like.

Don't feel too bad....mine is still sitting as well. They keep telling me it will ship this week, but nothing has happened yet. I called customer service yesterday and didn't get anywhere. I called the plant again and apparently they are not allowed to give information directly to customers. Today I called corporate and spoke with an executive but even corporate will not call the plant directly. There is a 'process' they have to follow. They are going to check to insure that my dealer has followed this process. If my dealer has (which is probably the case) then there isn't anything that corporate can do either. I will keep you guys posted on what I find.
I found the other car 5 minutes from work but they told me there were non anywhere in the US yet. How could that be?
Again, I realize chevy is doing this but the dealer has been worthless and makes this situation worse by making stuff up.
Good luck with yours bro, I hope it comes in soon. I told them I would cancel Friday, which I might do today and drive to the place near me and buy that one.
I know there are many others in my position, but if the dealer had be honest and upfront (or even bothered to really find out the issue and status) I wouldn't be so mad. They made up stories the entire time. I am still hearing from the general manager (Today in fact) that the strike caused the delay. I say "stop making excuses or saying something you know nothing about"

Well corporate said that the dealer has done everything they can do and they can't do anything more. The corporate lady also said that corporate has nothing to do with the sales...they just make the cars. (Apparently they don't check up on them either.) Corporate called my dealer to see what steps were taken and the dealer told them that they may have come up with a temporary solution. Gee...I can't wait to see what this entails. I haven't been able to get in touch with the dealer POC but we shall see. If they give me a loaner car at least I will have a car and at that point I will happily wait.
It's actually worse knowing there is one right down the road from me. In fact, Chevy.com says there about 7-8 of these in mass right now waiting to be sold.
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh
well my dealer told me today that they will not giving me a loaner car. I am so mad right now. They told me do to the QA thing cars are being shipped out but not in the order they had been built. So you may see cars in your state but yours could still be at the factory. They told me my car is still at the factory and that is all they know.

it would be cool if they could give you a loaner at least. I have asked my dealer, no response.

Corporate could have at least thrown in floor mats for all the trouble....
Oh, I do have one last option...does anyone know how GM sets up there email? I have some names but I can't get in touch through phone...perhaps e-mail will work...what I need to know is: does all GM e-mail go firstname.lastname@gm.com?
