I would like to see a pic of what you are talking about. Maybe we can figure out what they are doing.

I was going to say something too but I held back. Now I'm going to say it, that looks like an Injen or another company's intake just painted black and has SS on it, where it does look like its melting or bent

I don't have any pics of this but I've seen it in person on a couple SRT4's, if I can recall

def. looks better, but do something about that pipes uglyness and ur golden, take some sand paper sandit with some 320 grit, pray it with primer, primer some more, than paint it gloss black, clear coat it and throw it on, than it will look badass and flow much better, by flow i mean the look of it will flow better, since their is no natural colored piping in the engine bay

did that in like 5 mins

I might just do that, when I actually have the time. 17 credits and working on the weekends doesn't leave time for much

sweet, i wanna try this. Does the maf have a curved edge to fit the round pipe? (i would go look but im at work and my car is in the motor pool) I have a drill and tap set so that would be easy to do. Did anyone use sealant around the MAF?

the MAF is not curve and I did not use sealant around it, you could, good idea if your not going to be taking it out again

of course it's going to look better, it was professionally made, I custom made that intake in my garage this past weekend

You could put some RTV on it and let it set up on the pipe then slip it up over the MAF that way you shouldnt have a lot of trouble getting it off but would get a better seal.

thing with using silicones is that the turbo sucks, and it sucks hard, if the silicone sits on the piping rathr than sticking to it, it will be sucked right in, the MAF has its one little spongy rib looking thing on it, thats what it uses on the stock MAF plate to seal with, as long as the MAF is in right it should be fine, what i would do if i had a SS/tc, is i woudl airbox mod the air box, add more piping and make a CAI

well if you were to spread it thinly just on the tip, shouldnt be any problem with it pulling in the silicone really.

That is just silly. If I had money like that I would have done things a tad differently.
