Us Honda guys have toyed with this as the pre-vtec lobes are like an econo camshaft setup and the vtec cam lobes are decently aggressive. Most log manifold guys are setting the vtec crossover to around 7000rpms and making more midrange power than if they'd set it lower. The tubular manifold guys set the vtec crossover to around 4500rpms and it spools the turbo faster.
this is wat i was trying to figure out in a thread i made a few days ago. i got the tubular manifold and i reach full boost at like 4k. i was tryin to figure out wat cam set up i should go with. i know they got turbo grind but i dont know anyone who has them installed or if stage 2 or 3 would be better. im not too concerned wit if i will be able to drive it as a DD cause i drive my car to work, the store, the track and home

Knowing that it is a great running engine makes it easier to build lol. I know I dont have to sleeve it or get it bored out. The compression test was still great so it should be a matter of deglazing the cylinders, getting the crank balanced and spec for bearing size and put it together. If it really goes that easy.

ya but im getting a p0016 and p0017 code the car is running great we are going to pull the timing cover and readjust the timing chain. just a heads up there is a shim on the timing chain that covers up the the marker you have to take it off to see if your timing chain is lined up properly. i just found out about this and its probably whats causing the cels

I posted in your thread that if the keyway is at 12 you should be fine.

On the log mani discussion, the only reason I went with ZZPs is because of price. I paid UNDER 300 for mine, cause it was used.

cmiller, you are making great progress, keep it up!

Do you know if the crank will handle the power or you're getting a forged one from like K1 performance?

Damn!! I could have got the 58/57 for the same price as the 55/57, but they told me it would spool about 300-400 rpm higher, and with the stock motor I can't go too high anyway, so I went or the 55/57. But next year I'm building the motor!!! Damn I could have got the 58/57 too.

I live in The Little Italy part of town and my neighbors have the best cookouts and are allways bringing me some kind of wine that gets us all cockeyed in the garage.
