Not sure, I was thinking 6 for some reason. But there are alot of people coming from NY, Cali, Florida, so Ohio isnt to far lol. Its in June. But that is around the time I will be taking the NCLEX so I am not sure if I could go. I could plan it but might have to back out at last minute, which is the only thing that sucks about it.

I am just going to reuse the stock size as long as the crank and stuff specs out. The GM bearings are 25 for the rods and 25 for the mains my cost so pretty cheap compaired to 16 a rod from clevite.

Chicago is not a bad drive from us, it just their traffic that sucks. I have even been through there at midnight and it was bad. About like driving in NYC. It is about 6 hours from us, not to bad.

As for Dragway 42, it is a degraded track. Norwalk is much nicer. I have known some 9 sec cars get loose at 42 and almost bite it. Prep is bad.

That turbo is going to be really tight with a log mani. Mine barly fits with my equal length and it was designed so that bigger turbos would fit Easyer. Spool time is also better and you will get more top end power. I went with this

Yea, but our log manifolds cost about half as much as that one. I paid under 300 for mine.

Never been to dragway 42 but have heard many stories from other friends about that place, none being good stories. As for norwalk, never been their either but I know its prob the best track we got in ohio, that & national trails in columbus, ohio where they hold import face off the past couple years. I go to Thompson raceway park since its 15 minutes away from me, I know it could be better but I know its better then 42 so I should be happy w/that.

I didn't have to go precision. I have always liked them and wanted to use them from the start, but didn't want to pay the price lol. Once I found out the price on the s259 billet wheel I realized it wasn't bad and got it. I also got a deal on it which made it nice. The bullseye turbos are an awsome turbo as well.

Who cares how much it cost? Its a good part that I dont have to ever worry about welds cracking and other bs from cheep ****. And like I said good luck beating the firewall to get that turbo to fit with a log mani.....

I don't think I will have to beat the firewall in. The mani puts an angle so the turbo Sits down a bit.

not gonna do medic. i was a part time EMT for two years. have not been a working EMT for 3 years. i have kept all my cert.'s current though. problem is in my area it doesn't pay very well. my regular full time job pays alot more. i really enjoyed those two years i did it, but the pay just wasn't worth it (the whole time i was also working full time at my other job). like i said though i still keep all my cert.'s active, something to fall back on just in case.

yeah, 42 isn't that great but it's better than nothing. never been to nat. trails yet so i don't know. been to thompson, not too bad. and i live right by norwalk, been racing at that track for years. i have also been to pacemakers and milan (MI), and indy. i like to race at different tracks, i think it's cool. even if the tracks aren't that great.

Any engine shop should be able to do it. I like to take a look at the equipment they use before choosing which I will go with. I know the guy doing mine and he has all updated stuff so he was my choice from the get go. Now if I have to get the block sleeved or things like that I will let bates do it.

Yea, I doubt cmiller will have to beat in his firewall, and I'm tilting my engine/trans forward to prevent from having to beat mine in. I also don't think we are going to crack our manifolds. They aren't cheap cast pieces of ****. They are tubular just like yours, just a slightly different style. Plus I think we both plan on bracing our mani/turbos since our turbos are so big that the weight is pretty high and we wan't to make sure we do things the right way.

IIRC, tubular manifolds like yours are more prone to cracking with monster turbos unless you brace them.

I think you are underestimating mine and cmiller's builds. These are by no means cheap builds, there is a lot of time, money, and research put into both of them.

My turbo weighs 22lbs. Plus the dp, wastegate, dumptube and the mani itself you prolly end up with over 30lbs hanging there. Hitting bumps at 60 make it pretty prone to cracks and such. I am going to do some sort of bracing from the factory brace on the block to the new turbo. The 252 was fine and I am sure this will be to but taking that precaution just makes me feel better lol. This thing is welded inside and out and is real strong.

Does the exhaust brackets and such not provided enough bracing?
