X2.
I am curious but the leak is so small that it takes weeks of driving to notice it leaking again.

The o-ring is not serviced seperately from the sensor by GM. There is no part number for the o-ring.

The dealer will have Gray RTV. Just tell them to use it when they replace the sensor. That's exactly what I did!

I will probably be doing that next time or I might try it myself I am not sure yet but I think I am still leaking even after the new sensor was put in.

i checked mine today and sure enough mine was seeping, since i work as a tech for the dealership i put a new sensor in. we're not suppose to replace anything if its just seeping it has to be leaking. for me to replace it i put on the RO that it was leaking from the oring.

Last edited by krzy8; 02-27-2009 at 09:19 PM. Reason: RTV, U dont want to use RTV on the oring because if it breaks off it right to the cams and in to the oil.

A leak is a leak is does not matter if it is seeping or pouring out it still should be fixed. Whoever told you that you are not to replace things that are seeping should lose his or her job becasue that is half assed **** poor service. If my dealer refused to replace something that was seeping I would never use that dealer again for anything.

That is good to hear. I belive mine is still leaking. I cleaned the area it really well last night so there no oil residue at all I will check in a week or two. It is a very slow leak. Mine leaked about 1/4 ounce of oil in 5600 miles.

I dont wanna read threw all these pages. So I went and looked at my TC that just hit 3600 miles and it is leaking also. I just got off the phone with the dealership and they are ordering me the Intake Camshaft sensor. This will fix the problem correct, or is there more I need to do??

im scared.... my dealer just told me that they need to "take most of the engine apart" also assuring me that this would be a big job 5-6 hours due to that fact that it is a DOHC engine. Also... no loaner here. I hope they dont over do the job i dont think this would take up to 6 hours.

Well Joe, sounds like they plan on doing more than replacing the camshaft sensor, because that is a very quick job per GM service procedure. Certainly not a 5-6 hr job.

If youve got guys taking 2-3 hours to install CMP sensors, they are starving, thats a less than an hour job.
