I wanted to do this but WOT is not an option for me right now so, testing would be limited.

I have to appeal to both kinds of people.

I'm sure Vince looked into this initially because he saw promise, and then began rolling it out when he saw that benefits had been achieved by doing it. I'm just asking for something in the public domain I can point to and be like "Here, Mr. Customer, this is an example of what this feature does for you."

Like I said, if this isn't going to be possible, I can test it out and try logging it if nobody else can. Who knows, maybe it's so good that I'll have a 0 pegged fuel trim all the time.

i know a while back Vince had been trying to work with a 3rd party software company (Palmer Performance) to impliment their data logging software into his Trifecta software. This would allow LIVE monitoring while recording a data log for Trifecta which could also be viewed in ScanXL (one of Palmer's products) as a log file so you can see data graphs, charts and hystograms. I'm not sure how far along that came, but I definitely think it would be beneficial on both his and the customer's end to have this capability.

On the topic of ScanXL, this is actually the data logging software I was refering to a few posts back. I had been using this software to monitor things back when I was Trifecta tuned, which for me ended up being very much worth the $250 I spent on it (ScanXL Pro+GM Enhanced Add On). It's definitely not for everyone, and there's definitely a learning curve to figure out, but it particularly can help dealers out with their end of things.... assuming they know what they're looking at of course..

Just to repeat: This is still in the testing phase. Use caution when testing with engines of different VE.

In the interest of full disclosure:
I tried ECP last night on my car, and did not have good success. My head and cams were probably throwing off the airflow it would normally expect I'm guessing. Sent in some logs to Vince. Will see what he says. Hopefully we'll be able to work on some things to make it run like a top.

Car showed I was getting 6MPG standing still at idle, LTFT dropped to -13 (the tune that this ECP tweaked tune was based off of is normally zeroed out) and jumped up on tip-in, would go lean on tip-in before catching itself, bucked and stumbled at low RPM and low load, AFR was rolling all around, and possible audible knock on one occasion.

I feel we still have some things that need to be worked out on this for modified engines that are beyond bolt-ons. Hang in there while we work these out.

Yes mods like ported head, cams, etc will change VE values so big changes will have to made to the VE values.

*shrugs*

Has anyone with this tune on a basically stock setup (no mechanical engine changes) dynoed this yet?

I've been awaiting some clearer info from Vince... but between his move & what not, I don't think he's had sufficient time to answer my questions....
(hint: if you're a dealer go onto WOT-Tuning)

Released and testing are two different things. People beta test released software all the time, at their discretion. That doesn't mean it's in its final revision yet. Even if it was, we all know that software makers come out with patches all the time after release to fix things.

I worked as a Beta OS software engineer back in the day, and just because Microsoft, for instance, released a new snazzy server OS, doesn't mean that it was ready for prime time. Linux-based stuff was even worse back in the day. They had a new build every week it seemed for several different flavors.

This also seems to be a corner case, where it only affects heavily/internally modified engines, so that's another thing to take from this.

Thank you for these posts guys - they have helped me form a decision in the absence of Vince's response...

Wow, ok. I didn't know you were having issues too.

Yeah, I went back to my old one for the time being too, until it can be worked out.

Can you guys please data log it back firing so we can check it out? We did a lot of extensive testing and everything was fine. So if you guys are having any issues, please take a data log of the car having the problem while the logger is running and send it to me at customersupport@badnewsracing.net

This is still sorta beta phase right now, it's not being sent out unless requested so we can get some real world testing, so I do want to thank you guys for testing it and helping out.

My logs (I did a before and after ECP log) are already in the system, under ticket number 1646.

i'm a dealer and have already done datalogging for vince.
he said it looked "okay."

i'm just gonna go back to my original e85 tune till this guy is out of beta.
its weird too, when i shift to second it shifts hard once I release off the clutch due to the backfire.
i do like the tune because it is faster, but that can't be good on my car.

Hope it gets figured out as I was wanting to be able to keep my BOV as VTA and this seemed like a good option.

Does the tune have any changes other than the ECP? Because it should not be any faster unless something else is changed assuming your MAF calibration and correction tables were properly dialed in in the first place. Good or bad MAF tuning can really make or break a tune IMHO.

yea, it was doing it when i logged it but i didn't really pay attention to it.
2 weeks later I know exactly when and how it happens so i pay more attention to it.
i'll do another log for vince and email it to him before I put my old tune back on.

afaik it shouldn't.
he simply asked me if i was still on my e85 file.
i said yes and then got this ecp tune.
to me it feels faster. i'll report more on that when i go back to my original tune.

Yeah, in my case he asked me about which tune revision I was on and if I was the last E85 one he sent me, so I assumed that he then did an ECP conversion to my current tune.

Yeah... Don't mean to bash, but it's been that way recently. :/ To be fair, he's in the middle of a move right now. On that note though, if I was moving, my job would still expect me to keep up with everything. :/

Not sure if it applies to you but anyone on full E-85 without cams and/or a 5th injector you guys are nuts. Even with cams once you get to ~370 whp and 440 wrtq (25 psi) stock turbo that is the edge of injection window misfire and rail pressure dropping. Guys at high altitudes can get away with it because reduced airmass means less fuel being used.
