ok, so when I go to my tuner, what specs should I have him push my car for, no more than 255, a/f range 12.6-13 @ WOT?

I know there's more. I'm a newb.

i just talked to superchips and they said the reason for the cobalt bogging with the intake on is because their tune is meant for the stock lnf. tune for bolt ons will be available for download shortly.

11.8 is way too rich for the LNF

Because different intakes have a different effects and degree of effect on the A/F ratio it is not possible for them to release a tune that fixes the issue with every intake. Some intakes cause positive fuel trims some negative fuel trims an the fix if different for each case.

X2.
I am sure Area47, 06 black, and Boostking would agree as well.

Anyone can answer this, I've obviously got the SC tune b/c of lack of tuners in my area (hell, we have a lack of everything in WV). I also have the dejon sri on, do you guys think I'd make more power with my stock intake?

More power maybe not... but drivability and keeping your A/F in check yes that it will do!

No problem... I am on the stock airbox... while I just a tune only with a K&N filter in the stock box...

Car made 307whp and 339wtq so, what I can say for the stock airbox... what it makes up for in drivability makes up for the little more spool time

It sucks I don't have a dyno close by to try the two and see the differences, I might put the stocker back on and see if I feel any difference...lol

i know this may not mean mean much to you guys coming from a 2.2 guy but vince is a beast he has taken my 2.2 and given a performance feel and he has given me no lift shift and given me a switchable tune for when i want to run nitrous and when i dont all on the fly. he is a mad scientist and has shown more care than any bring name brand i have ever dealt with. his willingness to make me happy with my tune and his dedication to his work is the best i have ever dealt with. i would recommend him to my grandma!!!

Okay if they fix the intake issue... are they going to fix the charge pipe issue, intercooler issues.... they all effect the airflows and change things too!

I'm running the cortex on my ride with intake, charge pipes, and catback exhaust, and have to say i'm very satisfied with the tune. I'll be taking it to the track this weekend, and let you all know what the car runs. Still have to get it dynoed to see what my AFR is at as well as power outputs. There's always going to be something better, but remember it's your ride. As long as you satisfied, that's all that matters.

I honestly would rather you use the SC tune than Trifecta because that rich A/F is harmful to the motor over time and is more likely to cause KR because it is too rich. 11.6-11.8 compared to 12.9-12.5 for the SC tune.

I drove out to rockford with my girlfriend, 2 tents 4 cases of beer, a few helmets and 2 suitcases

Superchips91 octane
cruise set at 62mph , 79 degrees with all windows down, sunroof open flat road not much wind, DIC read out anywhere from 37-42mpg. I have a hard time believing trifecta could beat that.

oh, and termi wouldnt you foul plugs on trifecta pretty quick with that low of a/f

Why would you rip apart the SC tune and then say go with it over Trifecta?

Unless we are talking about cylinder wash - which would happen below a 10:1 a/f ratio.

How could you honestly say that it is too rich?
