The GM stage 3 kit comes with a whole new PCM (the cars computer). That way when you want to race it, you just unplug your original computer that has the stage 2 programmed in it, and plug in the stage 3 computer in it's place.

Stage 3 question-

I've read around and sites list the Stage 3 PCM as only capable of a 50 dry shot. I want to do a 50 or 75 wet shot. If the PCM is capable of controlling wet shots then i'd more than love to buy a 50 shot and have the PCM inject it, otherwise its going to get a 75 wet shot.

So, is it capable of controlling wet shots?

stage 3

GM pcm is not setup for that. Not wet shots anyway
the pcm is calibrated for a dry50 shot only

On crateenginedepot.com FAQ, it only says it was designed around a dry 50 shot, not that it will only work with a 50 dry shot.

The way i look at the 50 dry/wet shot ? is this - your car is set up with a 2.25" exhaust, yeah you can fit a 3 inch on there and itll run but is it worth it?

Question

Now with the Cobalt Stage 3 2006-07 Performance Upgrade Kit 88958719, should we already have the stage 2 kit installed, just so we have the injectors, or can we just skip the stage 1 and 2 kits altogether and get the stage 3??

For the GM Stage 3 kit, is this an upgrade kit which means i would have to get the stage 2 kit? If so I might just go with the Stage 5 kit on Intense racing.....

Stage 2 Reflash

Hey guys iam new to this site hopefully you guys can help me out. I have a 2006 Cobalt SS/SC. I Just got my stage 2 kit put on how do i know if my dealer did the reflash correctly? I have read that alot of people have had issues with the dealers bieng lazy and not following directions or just didnt know what to do. I went to http://tis2web.service.gm.com but i have no idea what to look for to make sure its done correctly. Any advice would be great.

If you can shift at 7K RPMS then you have Stg2 installed correctly. As far as being able to see it, you can look at the pulley on your supercharger and if there are 4 blue bolts holding the pulley on, then you have Stg2 also.

Welcome to the site, by the way

My question would be if the official numbers are Stage1: 236, stage2: 241 Then why spend the extra money and reduced sc life on stage2 for 5hp gain and a little extra sound?

Am I missing something?

-Now that I look again.. There is more torque to be had than hp with stage2, so I suppose the difference between stage 1 and 2 may be noticable.

Question Pulley

What is the smallest pulley you can run with the stage II? I have seen alot of different sizes on here, 2.8 seems to be the 1 everybody picks, also my car runs rich with the stageII and the 3.0 pulley, will a smaller pulley make it worse I would think it would.

I assume I can still run the Stage II kit belt with a smaller pulley depending on how small I go.
