Ok, I'm a few days late, but yeah I bought a T3/TO4E hybrid with stage 3 wheel, .48a/r housing. Very decent price from SlowBoy: http://www.slowboyracing.com/estore/...at=1277&page=1

I actually talked to some Turbonetics technicians to spec the turbo out for a decent street setup on the 2.4L motor. This one is perfect for a mainly street-driven setup with occasional track fun. If you're worried about spool time on any of the Turbonetics T3/TO4E turbos, you can upgrade to the ceramic ball bearing option which supposedly helps decrease spool time dramatically.

So I've desied I'm going with either the T3/T4 50 trim or the GT2871rs. Is the T3/T4 bigger on the outside? Like will it even fit behind the engine? Also how much R{M difference in spooling is there between the T3/T4 and the GT2871?

Well a few questions first:

What trim GT2871 would you be using?

Are you going to get the GT2871R, which is ball bearing? (On Garrett's site it appears all GT28s come with ball bearings.

If you got a T3/T4 would you get one with ball bearings?

I like the price of the non-bb T3/T4 but I know that's sacraficing spool time. The GT2871R will spool quicker be be about 50 hp short of the max output of a T3/T4 right? I drag race a lot too (1/4 mile) but I want the car to be fun to drive on the street too.

I don't know a whole lot about trims so I need some help choosing which is best for me. The GT2871R sounds like the cats ass but it's more expensive then the T3/T4 non-bb ofcoarse. The BB T3/T4 and GT2871R are only $40 difference.

Also the GT2876R is the same price as the GT2871R and it says it suports 450hp.

you'll need more than just cams, how about raising the compression and using 109 octane along with it!!

If you have the budget then go with the GT2871 but if money is an option the standard
T3/T4 is going to work for what you need. IF you trim it right spool up will not be an issue at all.

OK, so what are the issues with tuning these cars when you go turbo? I've heard they are some problems tuning once you convert using the factory PCM and HP Tuners.

From what I understand getting the fueling and timing just right is the main issue.
