about a half an hour to an hour. you dont have to sand all the way down to the metal just til u get that clear coat off. you go over it with a red sandpaper kinda feels like an sos pad. you can pick those up at your napa.

I also agree with you and Allshot. The high-gloss seems to be too much. A matte black on them would look better for sure.

but powdercoating is basically going to get you a solid black wheel.

you wont get the 2 tone effect.

Incorrect, you can powdercoat in different colors.

powder coated are better then regular paint. My dad has a body shop and he said powder coating is better then anything he can put on them, I just had my cavi's wheels done, they look great. mind you they are not black though.

Yes, it is possible to do hard lines. They have a high temp masking tape (I think its silicone) that withstands temps up to 500 degrees.

You're probably better off that way. The way the dealerships and GM have been acting lately, they might void a warranty for coloring the wheels

very cool.

the only question then would be.....is this a special process that most local shops arent gonna be able to do? and if they can.....is it gonna be extremely expensive....

Id definately prefer powdercoat, we all know its better.

but im not paying $500+ to have this done when i can do it for $30, even if i have to repaint every 2 years.
