how to keep your lsj alive in the winter
I am going to take it easy, but one thing I would like to know, and I believe it was already mentioned in this thread but I would like to double check.
What settings should we change on our tunes for when its cold. I have only done warm tuning so far, well hot/warm tuning ya know. This is my first time dealing with tuning in the winter.
I would like to not use the maf, and use the 1500/1400 thing to not read the maf. Are we just supposed to set pe mode to like 90% so we stay out of PE mode and take it easy on the car. Make sure the afr are safe at wot, 11.3-11.5 in my opinion and go from there?
Is something like this right?

I like to keep my afr between 11-11.5 generally 11.3 to 11.5. However I will admit right now, its in the low 10s lol. I uploaded the wrong thing and its rich, I will wait till the morning to change it though.
I have a question thats a little bit off topic but could be tied into with a possible issue I am having. If a camshaft position sensor was going out, what would be some signs?
I could research this, and I will, I just figured I would also ask here since this thread is so off topic, and I hate making new threads.

im straight stage 2 with magnaflow muffler. would it be a good idea to have it tuned for winter i do know of a guy locally that can tune my car. i have never dealt with tuning so i know jack about it. one question (off subject) i have is since my car is gm tuned with stage 2 how much more power am i looking at getting if i get it tuned properly? what about mpg increase?
You will notice a little more mpg on the tune, if the tune is done correctly. IMO I would leave your car alone for the winter if its cold where you live. But during the spring/summer/fall feel free to get a nice tune. I would still get a tune just to mess with the dfco settings. Instead of coasting and wasting fuel, you might as well not use any at all =D.
I would say when it hits the 40s thats pretty cold. I guess though since this is my first tuning winter with the car, it's when the afr starts to lean out and the egt's are higher. From what I have read, an EGT gauge would be a good investment.
LOL. You should be at B-dubs with them some time.
I should put a wall up in the middle. Heat an insulate my side and put in a window so I can watch you work in the cold on your side. That would amuse me.
Also works to keep Dan in line. He makes someone angry, someone just starts aiming the heat cannon at the Saturn's body panels....
I will post up my slip running 11s in a bone stock SS/SC and pwn all.

PCV system response = junk under 109* ECT.
warm the car up past that before doing ANYTHING.
then watch your AFR's
