I hope there is a TON left in tuning.....

It looked a little lazy getting through the gears to me, especially with how much it cost.

Now that i watch the timer, it took you about 12 seconds just to run out 2nd and get to the top of third, that was from a decent roll on. it sounds like in the vid that you stepped into it at around 3 seconds, and the top of third was after 15 seconds.

If you add onto that the time it would take to get out of first from a dig... its probably high 13's. ouch.

I think too many people are wrapped up in how good it sounds that they didnt even notice its not going anywhere.

Go ahead start typing all in caps about being pinned in your Recaros and your seat of the pants dyno, ect, ect.

I say come back with some TRACK TIMES, dynos are for tuning and Supras. Track times matter.

Here is a car making a 13.5 sec pass, at only 102 mph.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpidMsgbFgI

Which one is getting through the gears better? I know the cobalt is geared a LITTLE taller but still. It took this car about 10 seconds to get from the begining of second to the end of the track. Not 12. ugh..

I just watched both videos at the same time, if you start the bmw's LAUNCH at the same time that the cobalt floors it (2nd gear roll on) cobalt is at top of third (what is that like 105?) when the bmw finishes.

I knew it looked slow...

sounds nice, but lets see what it does at the track or on the dyno before i can pass judgement

but as for what master shake said about comparing it to another car. Well thats not a good idea, i know i did that at first, but now i realise why its not. Comparing videos just wont work. Mainly because your only able to compare whole seconds with a guestimation of RPM and exact start point as well as finish point. You wont be able to see a difference of less than half a second. So even if the kit took .30 seconds off each gear, thats almost a full second in the quarter mile.

He said that he had to take it easy on the NEW tranny. He didn't just hop in the car, stomp on it then start bangin gears, I'm sure if he did that then it would have been much quicker.

What happened to your blower??

Is it just me, or does it sound a little like a blow-off when he shifts on the 2nd-4th vid?

If he has a 7k redline, he is going about 118 at the top of third. More than 10% quicker then that 105 guestimate.

redlines only go 107ish with a 7000rpm limiter in 3rd dues to stock tire size...prob where he got the number

They prob hate cause there are no hardcore number...only ppl drooling over sound videos

Fat chicks having an orgasm sound hawt in the dark...but when u hit the lights its a horrible sight

Without numbers...the TS is the fat chick. When numbers are shown it may turn out to be a hawt chick but from what ive seen thru data probably not.

Either way best of luck and git r dun!

Top of third is 118Mph. now ****. plus he is running the car for the first time. he cant go crazy and new tranny so he is taking care of it. the shifting is not of concern here. what were excited about is 22PSI and IAT's of not more than 150.

Ricer math.....UGHH stop it. you have to look at what were trying to achieve first. test car so the boost is high with out high intake temps. at 22psi there will be plenty of speed.

I will have dyno numbers soon if I can get things rolling here in the next day or so!
That is okay. I dont know your history. thanks for sharing. dyno will be good enough. I know 22 PSI and 150 IATs is quite a feat.

question though. - what will the IAT's be with a 4th gear pull to the top. that is a real test.

the car will be a 12 second car easy and that being on street tires. it is whether the motor will hold. the thing that will kill it is heat. well IAT's are down which is great. I would consider a oil cooler now personally. that will help out the pistons since oil cooling jets are really vital. just a thought. I hope to monitor oil temps and put on a cooler. what ever works. as far as a HE perhaps a cobra HE will still be of help. I think that can lower it by 10 degrees yet. that is our experiance with a dual pass under the Heaton that is running a 2.8. I dont think that is coming with the kit but I would have to review it. I wasn't looking for that so if that is already there then forgive my oversight.

awsome work.

- rep for master shake. could everyone who feels the same please hit him up.

the video below, is my speedometer @ wot. i'm only lightly modded and running mid 13s, low 13's once on a good day.
the pull is short, from 4-6k in second gear (it was only intended for people to hear the exhaust.. )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1xt29w6hrw

this is the t/s video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7Kzl2wyuBU

make of it what you will, but its easier to compare 2 cobalts than a cobalt vs M3

I guess my lighter flywheel makes that much of a difference. Mine flys through 2nd/3rd more than both of you. Can't wait for the N. Balance Shafts now.

granny shifting doesnt have anything to do with how long it takes to get through the gears.

Call me a hater all you want, the car still looks slow, and IS slow. Until I see some track vids/times to make me a liar, Im sticking to my guns.

And as for third running out to 118, do you think this car will trap at 118 mph? not even close... get over the noise! Its NOT going to run 12's.
