hey for once we actually agree, in fact zddp is actually the LAST thing you want for break in, zddp is designed to prevent wear. The exact kind of wear you need to promote the break in process.

You can run conventional oil as well, usually recommended that it be a straight 30 non detergent oil. But the important thing is you run it for 30 minutes and just let it warm up, then turn it off and drain that oil out. That will contain the bulk of your assembly lubricant (be it moly based or not).

As far as priming goes, your not gonna be able to prime the motor just by cranking the motor via the starter, there isnt enough RPM's to get oil to actually flow up through to the head. But you are welcome to do so if you feel its a little more added security. You will have to start the car to actually get oil pressure though.
Thank you

Have Alan get a decent remote tune on the car then drive it to him. Don't just have anyone tune the car. You have put way too much time and money into it, to **** it away with a poor tune.

to a point but zddp is important for a fresh engine you don't want bearing wear period you also don't want to let the engine idle a lot you want to get the oil up to temp to seat the bearings and drive it and load the ring set and don't down shift you do not want to pull a bunch of oil up on the bores

rice if your engine is still out of the motor, pop the valve cover off and pour 1 quart of oil down all across the top of the cylinder head right by the cams and valve springs. It will help with the priming process.

Off ZZP's website

Important break in procedure:

We recommend that you install the engine, fill with oil, then leave the injector harness unplugged and turn engine over until the oil pressure light goes out. This ensures that you are starting the engine with full oil pressure.

I would still get the tune file once they are done, and send it to one of our good tuners on here to look it over....

Just because they are good tuners for LS cars, doesnt mean they can tune a Cobalt well.

No kidding... I'm going through that scenereo right now with a guy that had his lsjt done by some mega LS guy.. Doesn't make crap for power and guy refuses to give out the file for fear of losing his "secrets"
It's a load of crap.

It's always an option down the road. I could even do some tweaking at CED if you wanted.
