assembly lube is just for that you need to pump the oil into the engine so it gets on all of the bearings and cam journals and lash adjusters and the tensioner gets filled also if you would have asked I could have told you how to make a primer setup

 

put everything on the cradle engine trans radiator I mean everything make it a complete assembly then pick it up set it on the engine hoist legs roll it under car hook to engine lift points and lift it into the car as a complete assembly bolt up the cradle first then engine to mounts done

 

ok what do you think is the right method for getting oil everywhere?

i went and got some royal purple with a quart of RP break in oil. as of now i'm planning to pour a quart or two into the oil filter, and the rest through the fill spot, then crank for a few seconds before starting

I pulled fuel relay cranked for about 20 sec. Hooked it back up and fired right off. This IS coming from a guy on his 4th motor but those weren't my fault.

No. Fully equipped garage with lift. Had the harness completely hooked up too then lowered the car on it

 

royal purple is garbage go get some rotella or brad penn I modified a stock oil cooler and use 8.00 drill pump from lowes to pump the oil through the engine send me a text and ill send you a pic of the modded oil cooler I made

I have the Heat exchanger plumped radiator hoses on wire harness is on its a complete assembly lift and bolt but make sure you bolt the cradle in first

Because they are high in zinc and phosphorus. thus insuring the rings seal up.

 

What shop near you does dyno? And do they have any experience tuning LSJ? What was their reasoning for not running meth or e85? I'm gonna guess that they don't know how to tune for it...

 

Did you see his S/C? I don't think it would have lasted much longer on it.

 

He said they recommend not to run meth with E85 not that they recommend not to run either of them. Rice wants to use meth as a cooling mod and run E85 for its octane.

What injectors are you running? I might be able to give you a decent base to get you to a tuner.

 

way too much nonsense in this thread regarding breakin, you can run a break in oil if you want to, but your only running the break in oil during the 30 minute warmup after you first start the fresh motor, your not driving on it. You can run conventional oil as well, usually recommended that it be a straight 30 non detergent oil. But the important thing is you run it for 30 minutes and just let it warm up, then turn it off and drain that oil out. That will contain the bulk of your assembly lubricant (be it moly based or not).

As far as priming goes, your not gonna be able to prime the motor just by cranking the motor via the starter, there isnt enough RPM's to get oil to actually flow up through to the head. But you are welcome to do so if you feel its a little more added security. You will have to start the car to actually get oil pressure though.

 

zddp has nothing to do on the ring sealing that is done through heat and positive pressure on the ring pack forces the rings to seat
