I actually found mine on ebay. It was 40.00 with some shipping, but it is 3 huge books. It covers the car front to back. I have heard you can find it online, but like rice said crateenginedepot.com does have it.

the lsj build book is the one i'm talking about they may have other books too

lsj build book was like 20

haw how to's on removing the engine, clutch swap, reinstalling the engine, stg 1 and stg 2, and 'building' the engine

an arp bolt is not needed for the valve cover or oil pan or front cover they are not needed for 90% of the engine but if you want to waste money on **** you don't need then bust a nut hell most people don't need arp head studs

Mr.B I know it is different with a eco vs lets say a ls motor. I used them on the internal parts, and the intake. Everything else you don't need as you said.

Ahh, my whole winter (perhaps life) has led to this point.

The only doubt that i have about starting is perhaps that cam position sensor that your how to showed being shown wrong in the book. I think we wound up going by the book but i forsee us having to change it.

Just take it out and re do it. The book is wrong. Cylinder 4 at tdc on compression stroke and line up the notches

Thanks yall.

Wonder if i should run break in oil, given theres a lot of assembly lube on everything. Think im gonna use napa synthetic 5w30 for the first few heat cycled then change it to pennzoil

Pour two of your quarts right in the oil filter hole it'll get to the bearings better

Good luck man, keep us posted! As for break in oil, you could for some peace of mind to flush out assembly lube, wouldn't hurt anything.
