Rice, cyl 1 and 4 will be both up at TDC when the cams and balancer are lined up correctly.

The book way faces the cam sensor tab 180 degrees off the timing tab on the housing. That's the issue with the book.

My way and the way MrB. posted is the same/correct way.

oh yeah true, well idk what we did wrong the first time because we did it twice basically before it started lol, but the second time we went off cyl4 instead of one so idk.

Possible bubble in the system?

 

Check for kinks in your lines.

Might have some trapped air as well.

 

When I did the head gasket on my accord that I had, it got air in the system. It took a while to burp it all out.

 

hey staged, looking at your dual pass howto, i see you ahve yours routed differently than me kind of. it goes UP from the endplate and at the top of the line theres a fitting of some sort that disappears into the bumper support? what is that all about?

well guys, i hate to say this, but last night we took her out for another spin. spun her up to 6.5k at about 14 psi, next thing i know the car is thudding reallyhard and making all sorts of messed up noises, get back to the shop to see whats up and oil is pissing from everywhere.

so this build was a fail. you all failed me. i failed you. gonna sell what i can and get a mustang or a prius with no engine to worry about
