I do want to move up to a larger opening but this ebay setup cost me 15 bucks plus 6 dollars at oreillys for the brass 3/8 npt fittings for the intake and VC.
Definitely bump up the size. I'm going to go either -10an or -12an.

It's a must really. I'm very much against VTA, as well. That doesn't fix anything.

un-metered air aka VTA can mess with your AFR.

ok guys think i have a bad WG..

I cant seem to boost over 10 psi today. Went to the tuner and had him fix a couple hiccups I was having at part throttle. But we could not get the car over 12 psi this morning. Today I pulled the MBC and hooked the lines directly, I have a 15lb spring, It wont boost over 10-12 psi. Pulled the lines completely off the turbo and wg to vent to atmosphere. Creaped up on boost cause I know it was uncontrolled, still 10 psi.

Secondly I pulled the bumper off, and checked every hose clam and every tube, every corner of the intercooler. Gonna do a pressure/smoke test to be sure but there is no leaks later this week. The car feels great, makes power all the way to 10 psi then struggles. However revs to 7500 like a beast. Still feels fast but wont boost over 10. What gives gurus?

Think its the wg spring or diaphram crapping out on me?

See klutch, everyone has problems from time to time. I am just glad this time its not my block. Oh pulled the plugs, they looked awesome, (firing end is browned/tanned ceramic) proper ignition.

500 miles on the new block turbo build. Going to change the oil soon.

According to a local guy up here, turbos will only hit certain boost levels due to altitude. Hahahahaha funniest thing I ever heard.

Sounds like it would be a spring or diaphragm but I'm not an expert

started putting her together today. Got the front mount on and crash bar modified, cold side all done and ran. Manifold bolted up, hot side ran, retimed my motor and installed my stock cams back in the car. Also removed all the oem idler components to do the lnf alternator and tensioner assembly with belt. Would have got alot further but timing her up took a little bit and its ******* freezing out lol. Tomorrow she should be all done. Although i got a -10an weld in bung from treadstone for my oil pan that came today and the return line ryan was running is smaller. Ill have to get another bung and need a new map sensor since i had to break my mounting tab off when running the tvs

Where did you guys put the MAF sensor? Can I just keep it in my stock intake and just extend the intake to reach the turbo? Or does it need to be near the throttle body?

Oh okay so then it would probably be fine where it is now right? Unless once the turbo spools the reading on the intake is different than the actual airflow going to the TB?

needs to be post-bov. if you're using the stock lsj intake manifold and the stock sc air intake, which will now be your cold side coming up to the manifold after the intercooler. you can keep the maf in the same location.

come on guys. we all started somewhere..

Lol thank you man, I appreciate it...I'm really not trolling or anything haha, it's just this is my first time working with a turbo system and it gets a little confusing at some points, the little things mostly. But thank you again man
