e85.

made dick for power. pushed coolant. why? because i wasn't paying attention when i redid the timing map for the halved map. whoops.

which leads me to think, how in the **** do people blow these things up? is it sheer stupidity of the end user and the "tuner" combined?

for argument sake, i fixed the map and the next pull was 370whp.
I came across a similar, although much less intense situation while testing out that Id1k base map data you posted on the other forum a few months ago. I lowered the timing to be safe, but didnt realize just how much the g/cyl calculation was going to be skewed. Ran 31.5* timing and 12.9 AFR for a pull. Nothing harmed though fortunately.

I know I remember you saying a while back that you liked to go to the track to see what the car would trap at the different power levels. Would you mind sharing what your results were? If not that is understandable. IIRC you had once posted up 118mph on DR's and 121-122mph on street tires, but that was a while ago and my memory may be getting old

I cant imagine the torque on a 2.5

Makes me feel decent about my 119mph on 26" slicks though. On a 2.7" pulley on the tune I run every day, so the car must make decent power I have a ported head though. Was reving to 7600 to play it a little safe.

i ran up to 8k on mine. 1.9 60ft's on street tires. not much spinning going on.

That's amazing. Wut were u running suspension wise to eliminate wheel spin and wheel hop to run a 60 that quick?

Just valve springs correct? Stock balance shafts IIRC?

driver mod, and boost limiting in the tune.

Maybe this will help

11.5 afr starting out
22 degree's total timing.
2.75 pulley

sae was 342/291

::shrugs::

not bad for an 84k mile motor with 50k on the valve spring. stock clutch as well

c16 did 352/308 {wasn't out of fuel!}
plus i could hit the timing down low a lot harder to get the torque i wanted.

i'll get a better dyno graph tomorrow night.

either it's out of blower, or out of header. one of the two is limiting it. i am guessing header.

23.5 degree's of timing
11.5 afr
98 lb injectors at 79% idc.
e85

::shrugs:: oh well. not what i wanted, but close enough.

374/314 2.5 pulley
371/310 2.6 pulley

colors, cams, date that it was done. street numbers, not OMG dyno numbers.
red - gmr - 7/5/08
green - 272 - 2/10/08
blue - stock - 10/27/07

red was 11.6 afr. 20 degree's of timing
green was 12.0 afr 24 degree's.
blue was 12.4 25 degree's of timing.

im aware of the torque differences. there is a reason behind it. timing has a part of it, but the bigger part of it is compression ratio.

Awkward slow clap for Area47....

More than some.... hahaha.
I wasn't around when he was. However, i've done my fair share of research and he's everywhere. Learned a lot from his postings.

Those dyno threads played a big part in me wanting a TVS. Seeing all these people laying down sub 300whp numbers on the TVS had me all sad...but then I found hope lol, and that hope was posted above
