Girdled is far cheaper than darton and tested to 898whp and 54psi. That's what he meant.

But the girdled block is $1000 minus any modifications plus I have to ship my block. Darton sleeves from OTTP are $685.

right the sleeves are 685 then you have the additional machining cost so the block can accept the dartons fyi darton quoted me 1800 bucks total for a darton sleeves block they arent plug and play

Ya I knew it wasn't plug and play. I don't know what machine work is exactly worth though.

they have to get rid of the alluminum sleeve backing and open up the bottom of the block to accept the sleeves and you run a risk of cracking the bottom of the block when they press the sleeves in and they are supposed to be press all 4 in at once

yes the cost is a big deal but finding a cometent machine shop is the problem your 685 bucks could make a coupli of paper weights to get it right

All depends. But you never know what kind of quality it will be when it's all said and done until you've already paid.

BLUE-Listen to experience, buying sleeves is but the first step in a process that is going to nickle and dime you.

I fucked up my 3k build, spent another grand, got nowhere, admitted I was beat, payed ZZP their tribute $$$, another $400 for shipping, $500 for duty and broker, and now proudly own an indestructible ecotec.

pay to play, cheaping out will slay you.

Good to know! Like I said this motor build is kinda new to me. I don't really know the specifics of the build which like you say can nickle and dime you to death and be no further ahead. Thanks for the sound advice

Mr. B- stouter than the OEM version, by an order of magnitude. Maybe not base 10, but certainly worth the $$$ spent.
