Ya I know that. I plan to go with Darton sleeves, Diamond pistons .100" over, neutral balance shafts, 78lb valve springs, arp head studs and ported and polished head.

Zzp has gone 9k+ on stock valves.
The lsj rods are the strongest production ecotec rods made.
You will be fine. There's a place in Ohio that will cryo treat them for $10 each if you want a littleore piece of mind. I would have the entire rotating assy balanced if your going over 8k though.

I've been going through withdrawl not having my car. Hell I pushed it out of the garage yesterday and washed it lol. All I've been thinkning about is getting this motor back togeather. The hard part is getting the funds to do it. I still gotta buy a winter beater.

NBS - $100-250
valve springs & retainers - $300ish
ATI dampener - $400
Front cover grinding - $ 150 w/o core (zzp)

If you can do the work yourself... this will cost as much as a TVS.
But cams do not provide the same gains of a TVS.

True, but, the. You have a much better foundation. Better flowing. With the cam specs we've been working on with comp, 10-12 psi on a 2.6" m62 should be attainable (with head port and full exh of course) Bringing the efficiency way up.
[edit: prolly more like 12-14 with the ati]

darton sleeves are beyond over kill a zzp block will suffice much cheaper and not to mention you can do a 2.4 or a 2.1 out of one block
