Well if I measured the nominal flow rates correctly, the bosch 0 392 022 002 LSJ pump is roughly 5.28gph, the bosch 0 392 022 010 comes in at roughly 6.16gph, and this WP29 comes in at roughly 28gph or so? Which I think might be a bit of overkill. lol

Head pressure is what matters tho. So many of the options that have high gph free flow have a lower flow rate under restriction. We covered some of this earlier in the thread.

Any benefit to using this on an otherwise stock cooling system? Seems like it would flow too much and blow out the seals...

The WP29? no i wouldnt even try to use it. lol The bosch that the OP was referring to for this thread should be plenty of an upgrade over the stock pump.

No. Because all things being equal, aside from the flow rate, it doesn't.
I asked the question to make people think.

Any problems getting it to work right? I bet the speed could be controlled. Here is the pin out and manual.

they do make a pump controller for it, runs canbus and can be throttled
I just run it ***** out, need something that can deal with high head pressure due to the many feet of tubing and heat exchangers in my car. Didnt test it on the stock he, but swapping to this from the stock pump, coolant stays at ambient coming into the manifold and only a few degrees temp rise under wot, drops right back down to ambient in a few seconds.
Iat's werent tested on the m62 yet (will be in a few days once the car is back up and running) but on the tvs with a 2.7 pulley max iat2 after sitting in traffic for an hour and a few back to back 3rd gear pulls got it up to about 130 degrees on the last pull with the avg pull with out heat soaking the system was in the 113-118 degree range
We also monitor the temperature of the fluid in the H.E. system with a temp gauge right before the laminova core inlet and one at the outlet so we can see exactly what the temp delta is after the cores.
stay tuned for more once the rest of the cooling system is ironed out

only issue was finding a spot to fit it as it's a beast, made a bracket to mount it off the subframe and had to remove the stock pump bracket to clear.

What does your heat exchanger system look like that this pump was a good alternative for you?
