I am and lol thats what i been doing but eh sometimes i gotta get out the car fast and be on my way to do things or places so need to have it just incase. im not trying to buy a new turbo until atleast 3-5 more months
unless you beat on it real hard and then turn it off right after than you will be fine, we have oil coolers so the turbo gets fed 180* oil instead of about 240-260 on other cars.
honestly, i just use my egt gauge if its below 900 then i just shut it right off if its above 1000 then i wait till it drops to 800-900 which takes about 1-2 min
just idling its @ 700* for example. but once the turbo gets hotter than 800 it seems it wont ever come back down to 700* no matter how long it idles so i turn it off between 8-900
turbo timers are cool, but i would look into something that has 1 remote and does the following features:
1. turbo timer
2. alarm
3. remote start
4. keyless entry
5. trunk release
they have em out there just i really hate wiring, so i have been putting it off for yr or 2

i have this one cause the color matches the stock gauges.

hungrychip I was curious to how your car is doing with the s256 with the .55 a/r. I was looking at that exact turbo and I live right around the corner from extreme psi so I was going to talk to those guys about it to. Like how is your spool time. I understand your losing a little up top but my car is a still a dd so I live in the low rpm ranges.
spend the money and get the extended tip, with smaller exducer @ 69.5/61.5 i full spool at 3700 so with the smaller wheel you should see full spool @ 3400
ZZP runs the .55ar there making 600 crank and 510whp the BW .55ar housing is the ******* **** dude, i have never seen something flow so well and still spool so fast (for journal bearing anyways)

the whole kit used lol but wasent even use for more than 1k i beleive so pretty much close to brand new
just 15 until i get my exhaust next and cruise it like that for a bit then getboost controller , clutch and a good good tune.
