It does seem like a fork lift blade rammed it but guess who doesn't own a forklift.
JBP likely put it in their truck the same way I did when I shipped to them, using an engine hoist.

UPDATE
The inspector for the shipping company comes over in 5 hours to look at the damage.

Well as Keith suggested, we wii be using this method of repair as the carrier's insurance is working really hard to deny the claim.
The Bates plate is on the way and JBP will be doing all of the repairs at their cost.

Sadly nothing (with cars) goes well for me.
And the legal stuff, that isn't any fun either.

Well after some major complaining, the insurance company may pay for some of the damage. They need to know first how much it will cost, so I built a crate and it just shipped out back to JBP.
I should know more about the insurance claim next week after JBP fixes it this weekend.

This would be the insurance of the shipping company.

The imaginary race block is missing a complete cylinder, now I am even more bummed as even the make believe stuff can't get it right..

The plate is only $50. and the remote oil filter/oil cooler is about $200.

newp, just a torque plate

it's used when machining the cylinders. in my head i can picture what it does. when you torque the head down it stresses the block and twists things a hair. the cylinders are machined in this nature so it is a true round all the way down when the torque plate is put on and torqued to the spec that the hed would be.

simple device, makes things more fun when in the quest for retarded power

I believe what you refer to is what JBP calls their deck-plate.
