LAP swap questions.

Ok now I know this is going to sound stupid and you guys are going to say "just buy an ss" but I want to do this anyway.

To put it plain and simple. I want to swap an LAP with an LNF.

Now the LNF i was going to get from ZZP ZZPerformance - Gen 3 LNF/LDK Short Block #ZZ-LDKSB unless you guys have another way.

I don't mind building the engine but the only trouble that I could foresee is that the flywheel pattern would be different and I would have to fabricate some custom parts.

I also know that I would need a couple sensors, ECU, ect.

Anyways this is going to happen maybe not anytime soon, but within the next couple years.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that this is an automatic(4t40?)(2009 Cobalt LT) but you already knew that since it's an LAP. It is not really my daily driver so I can do whatever I want with it. Basically it's just for fun.

Cranks are different meaning the flywheel is different meaning you cant use an f23 without a custom clutch i believe. Im not sure about the ecu, but i doubt they are the same. Most cobalts with a motor "swap" require the replacement of the entire wiring loom from a donor car.

I have a LAP engine and I don't have the slush box, so no we didn't know what transmission it is since the LAP it came with both the slush box and the F23 trans.

Why not just build the engine at a shop rather than switch them out?

Trade it for a 5-speed l61 car or maybe even an 05-06 LSJ. Honestly automatics just make it more complicated to go fast unless you wanna drop some serious cash.

I was looking at building the LAP but it seems that there is not really anything for it. Also I heard the block cant really handle 300+hp. I mean i don't want 500hp but like 300-350. I went looking for pistons and crank but found squat. And I would trade it in but its not totally paid off.

The lap bottom end is almost if not 100% identical to an l61. The gen2 block should be able to hold over or around 400hp so you should be fine there. Stock crank will be fine up to around 600-650hp. Pistons and rods with new bearings and all the goodies should do you well for your power goals. L61 pistons and rods should do the trick

So what would you recommend that I get? links/name of products would be awesome. Also I was browsing the thread for days and couldn't find anybody that replaced pistons and/or rods.

Pistons and rods, call her a day.

I did extras like head porting and valve springs.

Block can handle more than enough power. Trans will **** out on ya.

Wiseco 10:1 l61 pistons

Eagle 2.2 l61 rods

Oem or clevite rod bearings.

Turbotechracing.com sells all that stuff, but just google around. Make sure to use a legit website though.
