Supercharger build Lap
Chevys like pennzoil for some reason. I personally like Castrol Edge in my Hemi engines. Mobil 1 is good, but causes them to be noisy. For years and years I ran the Extended performance Mobil 1 in everything. My cobalt as well. I liked the way it helped with oil pressure. I never really thought the oil looked dirty vs Pennzoil which looks like black gold when it comes out. Thats all my dad uses in his Chevys. Well except the LS work truck and it gets mobil 1 synthetic.

I never had any issues with mobil 1 until my hemi engines. For some reason they become really noisy with it in there. I have put 80k on my truck with edge and it is quiet. The Charger was noisy from the factory. First oil change I did edge and same thing silence. Its odd.

Yup I've used Penzoil Platinum and Ultra many times brotha. Its good oil for sure. I find my oil is much cleaner with Penzoil than say Castrol or Mobil 1. Yeah I might pick up some Amsoil and throw it in brotha. If I do I'll let you know how it feels in my car. Supercharger is not installed yet, however I did mock it up a few weeks ago to see how it looks. I still got a lot more parts I'm going to add like Cold Air intake, big header downpipe combo, option b, gauges etc. So right now I'm trying to finish the suspension stuff. My car is in pieces right now. The front wheel bearing I bought from Rock Auto came damaged when shipped to me so that really pissed me off. Remember I told you the issues I was having with that. So I have to order another hub now. Plus I want to do my rear hubs as well which need to be ordered when I get more money. Also since the woman left me its all on me financially in my house plus i'm playing child support for my daughter. I wish I was like 25 again no kids or house expenses because **** be done a lot quicker lol. Oh well lol, my baby is going to get done regardless brotha lol. I figured it be minimum 2 to 3 years because I also want to fix a few body issues like my rockers. Yeah mortgage payment and the other expenses I mentioned are killing brotha lol. So yeah just be careful of your spending and I always go by my rule of don't buy **** until all the bills come out your bank account first lol.
ok yeah that's good to know about ttr mounts. I know the vibes will be harsh at first but i'm not sweating it anyway. My old Nissan Altima had solid mounts and I f%%king loved the vibes felt race car like haha. And those solid mounts made that little car pull off the line like a bat out of Hell brotha lol. And i'll take your advice and insult the glove box. Mine already rattles anyway lol. That's one of the reasons I knew my stock mounts were trashed lol

You should consider sending the headers out for porting and doing dual pass too if your not in a rush and can save a little longer. Being an auto with ac, I imagine things looked tight, It's a pita to change HE plumbing and I have small hands still lol so I'd recommend doing it once and for-all. If you're thinking of adding it down the line and adding another HE later, I bought a 50 foot roll of 3/4" heater hose, thought it was gonna be a huge waste of money at the time but I've used like half of it now, definitely got my money's worth.
Oh yeah my stock motor mount was awful, you could feel the engine almost lifting leaving a red light with a heavy foot, I even popped the hood once and rocked the engine front to back lol. Wasn't shot but just soo much slop..
Haha I'd like a do-over too buddy or maybe even fast forward a bit.. But... it ain't so bad being 23, I could buy a racing block and figure the rest out later but life is scary imo, I'm just really hoping everything works out. I'm in a good place right now, I honestly made equity buying the house thanks to help from my parents but yenno now it's just the long open road.. Little different feeling then being in an apartment. Sense of "****'s real now." Reckless spending is now gonna be minimized and spread out lol.
Yup, I put on like 3000-5000Km/year, do an oil changed every 3-4 months, pours out gold but it's dark black in the drain pan. Almost like conventional.. glad it's not just me.
Yeah let me know how you like it. Oh okay gotcha, excited for you! Can't wait to hear you get it going. Ugh, the blows, are they gonna warranty the hub or?

Tks brotha yes its going to feel amazing once my car is done. Yes I got it through Rockauto and thankfully they just told me to send the part back and I got a credit on file. The sensor itself was completely cracked and was in pieces inside the box. No way I could of used it. Yes I was going to probably do a port polish on the headers anyway and try and squeeze out a few extra ponies lol. We got a couple of decent exhaust shops out my way that should be able to do it. And yes I am planning on doing option b and dual pass all at once because I do not want to have to do work twice. I'm also thinking of adding another tranny cooler as well. I really want to do this build right the first time and not have to keep redoing my work over and over again. I made that mistake when I was younger and no experience and barely any money. Now that I'm in my mid 30s I have a lot more patience and willing to take my time on stuff and do the job right the first time. This is also why the suspension portion took longer to do because I wanted the best high quality parts possible. Yeah my stock mounts do the same lol. Feels like my freaking engine is a damn boat anchor lol. Yeah appreciate the youth while you can my brotha lol . Once wife/gf and kids enter your world its down hill from there lol j/k. And you made the right decision buying a house when you did and get yourself established early. Enjoy the single now while you can my brotha lol. Life can change soo quickly. I remember me and the ex moved into a apartment together I was around 22 years old, fast forward I turned 34 in January and my daughter is turning 7 in April and i'm freaking single again for the first time since my early 20s. Life can be insane sometimes lol.
Soooo my dipstick just blew on the highway lmfao, IT's funny, brought two different types of coolant with me for a 2hr round trip but no oil.. Engine bay is covered in frozen oil now, had to drive home with an open valve cover. I assume my catch can is blocked by ice right now, never had this problem last year, it would always melt/ clear out after a decent amount of run time. Well I guess I'm doing an oil change today, thawing out the catch can again and cleaning up lol..
Oh ****, well its good at least they're gonna cover the part. Good stuff!
Something to consider about the trans cooler, you'll also want it to be a full functional warmer. very important.
and here I am doing thing's over and over again like a chum lol. But it's kinda fun.. keep's ya on your toes. like today
. Weather say it feel's like -37 there was no checking your oil level on the highway, Indicator was frozen and tube was filled with snowish oil, there was no getting an accurate reading, added about 0.3 of a liter at a gas station judging by how much oil I could see frozen to stuff. I want a real oil pressure sensor now...
Damnn, you'll find someone new, someone even better bud! I'm kinda looking forward to the gf/ wife haha part but eeek there's no buying a racing block with a kids lol. But yeah no it's good right now, I'm gonna do some stupid stuff to my car this summer enjoy it while it's in the budget still. I hear yeah there tho, in a blink of an eye. I've already stopped liking birthday's lmao, soon I'll be 30 then 40 oh god

Damn man glad you got her home in one piece though. You think you might need a better catch can potentially? Also I know ZZP you can get upgraded dipstick that I guess stays put inside the tube better than a stock one does. ZZP gave me one with the kit I got. I'm assuming they gave you one also? And yeah getting a oil pressure gauge might be a good idea brotha. Yeah if I do get a tranny cooler I'll make sure its a good one probably Hayden brand. And thanks brotha , I'm not too worried about the women right now lol. That will fall back into place when I'm ready. I'm going to enjoy the single life for awhile trust me lol

just a case of too much crankcase pressure, catch can was blocked, my phenolic spacers block the vent on the manifold, had to give somewhere..
haha atta boy!
Yeah read into transcoolers/ warmers, Theres a good thread around with Maven Im pretty sure, lots of good info.
give this a read dude, I skimmed it however pretty sure this is what I was thinking of

I'm going to be changing to the 1.75 primary mid length zzp header anyway. That should give me the extra exhaust flow I need once the supercharger is installed.
Well I suspected a leak on the right corner for a while... after having my dipstick blow out and further inspecting things yesterday, you could also see a good amount of oil was pushed from that corner and staining the head going down (didn't look like a splash from the tube....)
Already had the gasket with me, just went ahead with getting it done,

Nothing too crazy happened today. Hands and arms were insanely sore from replacing those little grommets on the valve cover bolts.
My push to connect stem elbows came in!, which just alleviated a clearance issue I was having with the tube going towards my methanol nozzle.
Cleaned the engine up more with engine shampoo and she is looking pretty!
Still have to start the thing up, make sure everything's ok, but I should be good to start looking seriously for my HE leak now.
Radiator leak should be as simply as replacing the rad petcock just waiting for a little warmer day..
Then It should just be validated I have no vacuum leaks, clean up tune, make a pass or add something new!

Also decided to treat my baby and get the good **** lol. Penzoil Platinum Ultra. On sale at Canadian Tire for 33 bucks. See how much better this oil is over the other various oils I've used including regular platinum synthetic oil. Says on the back of bottle its rated for extreme performance lol. I'll let you know how it feels my brotha lol

That's good news my brotha. Let me know how she is running after a few days of driving. I had to get some gas treatment for my car today as I noticed aot more water/condensation coming out the exhaust. i'm also going to try some lucas fuel system cleaner once I get my girl back on the road. I feel like this car is never ending lol. Soo many big and little things still left to do.

I know the feeling haha, fix something and break two more.
Damn that's cheap! I think you made a good choice, we only stock the platinum ultra for srt engines.
Started it up just now, was a little concerned I snapped one of the ignition coil wires, it was pretty cold and I obviously heard a snap, likely just the convolute though.. Going to take it out Saturday for a drive, suppose to be super nice this coming week!

Sorry yes I do have high voltage coil packs, when taking off the valve cover one of the connector/ wires for a coil pack had to pushed out of the way, forgot it was stupid cold out and it made a snap when I moved it a little too quickly.. but it was just the convolute around the wires which made noise, the wires themselves seem fine.
Well after the valve cover gasket, Idle vacuum is perfect!
Going to take the facia off when I get home, try to find this HE leak and it should be warm enough to swap the rad petcock now. It's beautiful here right now, summer tires crossed my mind this morning lol.

Sounds good brotha. Let me know how you make out today. Snow storm out my way and cold as ****. I'm hoping it warms up was going to work on the car this weekend. I might get one of those portable propane heaters soon. I would love to wire my garage soon. Just not in my budget right now.
Damn that sucks, stay warm out there! will do bud!
I got around to replacing all the dead bulbs in my garage, electrical is a bit of nightmare out there so many light switches lol. Going to have to repaint the exterior in the summer, looks like only the roof needs insulation, a slight patch in the corner and it should be mint. Also wouldn't mind painting the interior too....
thinking for today though, I'll replace the rad petcock nice and easy, get the facia off, pressurize the HE system and try to find that leak. Almost forgot I had a new pump, so they'll make it's way on too soon
