This 100%.. Which is exactly why I'm leaving my LSJ stock, selling it for cheap, and buying a Vette!

FWD sucks!

BTW. Had he gone turbo in the first place, he could have saved a lot of money by doing it himself. 5 G's is a pretty high price tag. One could easily acquire the necessary parts to turbo their LSJ for half that and be running in the high 11's on stock internals..

Just saying!

If you are putting together the most ghetto kit alive, yes.

Lets say he had a stage 2 LSJ with bolt ons.

a tvs was 2000 dollars. THat's it. He had all the other stuff he needed

For a turbo kit. He is taking off all his bolt ons

He needs (and these are rough numbers, i don't doubt some prices could be lower or higher)

-Turbo (1300)
-Manifold (300)
-Wastegate (250)
-Downpipe (200-300)
-FMIC (400-500)
-Charge pipes (400-500)
-Intake (200)
- 3 inch cat-back (500)
-BOV (200-300)

So that's 4150. More then Double what his TVS was.

1300 is a bit cheap I think for the turbo. My gt30r was 1600 shipped to my door. The Americans don't realize that things get more expensive north of the 49th.

Like I said before... "Had he gone turbo in the FIRST PLACE, he could have saved a lot of money by doing it himself..." Why? because he didn't need to build his motor to get to 400WHP and be in the 11's.

He didn't make 320whp from only a $2000 TVS. There are many other supporting mods necessary to get there which cost money and adds up quickly.

For all that money people put into an LSJ to supercharge it, they could have SAVED by just adding a turbo to the stock engine let alone a mild build.

Anytime Canadians want to start paying on the bailout of GM please chime in.... You seem to love GM so much yet Americans are stuck with the bill to keep them alive.

You guys could stay at my place too if you decided I come out. Would be a fairly cheap trip.

Rallyyellow when I first bought my Balt I said to myself "I just want it to be a little faster than stock" lol. So an OTTP Stage 2 has lead me to where I am now. Good ol snowball effect! Not many people buy an SS/SC and say screw it I'm ditching the blower and going turbo. I'm not regretting what I've done and where I'm going at all. Personally I think going turbo is an easy way out. Will I break records no. But ill get props for a fast SC Balt and appreciate that more.

I don't think "easy way out" is the correct term to use.

And that somehow means Canadians pay for the bailout?

It's not like you're going down with the ship. If you seem to have some other insight on the matter then please inform us of our ignorance!

I don't think a turbo swap is the easy way out. I'm finding it to be rather more difficult when I think about what part I need next or what I might be missing. A tvs I think is the easy way out for making over 300 hp. The turbo is the easy way out for making 400 hp I think
