Bluelightning's Build V 2.0
I would counter your response with hte following;
basically to dumb it down try to look at this way;
Q: Why would a driver want a tire to have a softer sidewall?
A: With the nature of suspension & tires, something is going to have to give first;
Once your suspension is maxed out, your tires are going to be the reason why you're spinning - BUT if you can soften the side wall, you can ward off tire spin by allowing the tire to absoarb a certain amount of torque, which initially rotates the center of the tire from the outside.
Tires, suspension, and torque are all factors which play together...
We've seemed to remove the factor of tire compound from the euation;
As a general rule of thumb, the more steel in the tire, the harder the rubber compound @ warm temperatures - going from hard to soft;
/my two cent's worth.
Softer sidewall = ability to hook harder = increased stress on axle(s)

The softer sidewall which crinkles soaks up that hit of a hard launch thus making it easier on the drivetrain. Think about it. What would be easier on the drivetrain, dead hookup with a drag radial with a stiff sidewall or with a slick that gives?
A dead hook with a sidewall that is going to give a little will be more forgiving, and a dead hook with a stiffer DR is going to be put a good amount of strain on things (as if a dead hook with a soft slick isnt already a "good" amount of strain
) However, you will not likely dead hook on a DR, but they seem to wheel hop worse than slicks or street tires. Just my experience.

Just got off the phone with kxrida2000. Motor is paid for and will be shipped today. ZZPs order is on its way, CEDs order is on its way, I just picked up a spare head from a friend that hopefully will get shipped out to euthanasia this week. It's slowly coming together!

Well I'm still trying to get in touch with euthanasia for the details on how long he needs the head for. I know he's a busy guy. I'd really like him to do the work but if it's going to take months I'm going to have to go in a different direction with someone else. I want this thing turn key for spring.

Funny you say that I'm talking to him right now lol. I'm probably going to be using him actually. Seems like a great guy, quick at responding, can probably get it done sooner than euthanasia and good price. All wins for me.
