But then again, more lift at .050" opens up the oppurtunity for a torque loss down low. I bet it'll feel like a stock car to 3k rpm then be a monster above that.
I was gonna go to about .650, but I've got the 1.65 roller rockers already, so I am gonna stick with the .575. But I am gonna run a vacuum boost pump. I don't know what kinda lift numbers kill the vacuum on the LSJ.
Cam, do you think you will need to run a vacuum boost pump?
Wow, thats kinda mild. Well I guess not, since the stock LSJ intake cam duration is like 189 degrees @ 1mm.
Ok, I went and got my spec sheet. Most people will see the next few lines of my post as alien script, but who cares

I see that Witt cought it already, but as a 2nd "heads up" with larger valve mass and a extra-wicked cam take at least a peak into the solid lifters, bates as stated make them, i think JBP said they will make there own(some past thread iirc) and trick titanium(two streets over from me) said they could make a baller set....with an equally baller price tag.
none the less, all builds run more$$$ then planed, thats like a given! so drop the extra coin to make things truly "full proof"....well at least as much as possible.
you might have covered this previously but what valve springs are you going to use? a real high seat pressure / spring rate is only going to increase the possible need for said lifter.

It might be a little noisy valvetrain with that quick ass ramp. I haven't compared it to the stock rate so I can't be certain but it might be a little harsh on the lifters.
I have a little more math on your cams from the info you posted above:
Overlap: 46 degrees
Intake Cam centerline: 104.5
Exhaust Cam centerline: 115.5
BTW, you wouldn't happen to have any of these cams for sale or any thing close thats not a regrind? I wouldn't mind replacing my reground ones with something fresh sometime later on.
I'm using Ferrea valve springs (74lbs IIRC), titanium intake/exhaust valves that are 1mm larger, and titanium retainers. I asked John with Ferrea about the stock lifters after telling him the cam specs, and he said they should hold up fine.
there were lifters that were collapsing under the bates springs alone.
the bates units are 92lb so if your at a min of 74 with a larger valve and such it might not be a bad idea....its all budget dependent of course.

The bates springs are good for 10000+ rpm. I never plan on reving anywhere near that high. The Ferrea units are good to a little over 9000, which is perfect for my app. Thats another reason he said the lifters should be fine, also the valves are titanium, which is lighter than stainless steel so even though there larger, they will weigh the same or even be lighter.
John from Ferrea called on Friday and said the valvetrain is ready to ship... After he receives the payment of $788
I don't have $788 at my disposal right now!!! If anyone wants to click the "donate" button on my myspace, feel free
