interested in the results from this. Think he'll make a thread about what he did, almost like a how-to style?

The cutoff is crooked as well.. It's driving me in sane at night hahaha I had to stuff a piece of foam under the passenger side light and its still off by a couple inches. This is when I start to wonder if aftermarket is really the best way to go for functionality.... Looks, definitely, but functionality always seems to worsen.
This really is due to the fact that the aftermarket projectors have a VERY cheap projector in them which does a very poor job of focusing light from the hid bulbs properly. A good quality projector can gain more brightness out of the exact same bulb.

all i know is its very thin.. but idk the specifics.. im looking to get a different temp
It's a special bulb that fits both the G1s and G3s. Buyhids.com has it and so does 3bspec.com. 3bspec quoted me something like $45 for a set I think.

He's working on one I think, or at least a build thread over on hidplanet.com

You must just not be noticing it, because all the Gen 2s are made exactly the same no matter where you get it. If they really are gen 2s, (and you're not just confusing the projectors) it will have the light bar.

You'll need a 9007 set for the headlights (bixenon is up to you), and h11 set for the fogs, and 2 relay harnesses, one for each hid kit. That's it really. Oh, and get some good outdoor double sided tape to mount the ballasts with, it makes it much easier.

alright i just picked up my gen1s and they seem to have burnt out halos & LEDs which isnt common, but does it pay to replace them or are the most likely just going to burn out instanly again?? if they will burn out quick or simply not work due to shitty wiring ill just disconnect them, no biggie...

also, there is an HID kit in the low beam and i wouldnt mind putting one also in the high so would this mean i have to wire in two separate relays? i currently dont have relays installed at the moment.. stupid questions i know, but i figure ill ask before buying

Yes. Every individual hid kit needs a seperate relay.

I've seen and heard of enough wiring harnesses in all types of cars that I wouldn't risk it. I myself have had issues with bulbs igniting due to not having a relay. As soon as I installed it, problem solved

5000k highs in the high beam reflector housings? That must be ruthless. Output is good with just a good solid set of halogen H1's in there.

Hahaha yeah it is pretty brutal.. And I figured out if you pull back on the high/low switch instead of pushing back on it then it leaves the lows on and turns on the highs.. So I can see pretty well haha I can't wait for fogs. Only downside to HID brights is that they have to warm up every time I switch em on..

BUT it looks like I wont be posting pictures tonight due to some technical difficulties.. If anyone has CCFL please help out.. I have the CCFL inverter plugged into the CCFLs and the pos and neg wires running to the LED wires via quick connect. Then I have the LED wires connected to my running lights for power, so the LEDs and both CCFLs are powered from my running lights. Its the exact same on both sides, but passenger side CCFLs wont work (LEDs will). Thought it may be the headlight itself, so I plugged the CCFLs into the driver side inverter and they worked... What am I doing wrong? Its so simple, but something's not right and I need to fix it!!! If it works on the driver side, but not passenger I thought it might be that I tapped the wrong power for the running lights, but the LEDs work, and the CCFL inverter is wired to that... So then I figured it was the CCFL inverter itself, sent it back for an exchange, got the new one and the same thing is happening....

I never figured out what the problem was so I just wired the passenger side CCFL straight to the parking light fuse under the hood.. Works like a charm, and it still turns on and off with the driver side CCFLs. I tried to take some pictures tonight but the rings won't even turn out on the droids camera haha it's too bright so I'm gonna try again tomorrow with the nikon.
Anyone know where to get LED interior lights? My buddy just got some for his e46 330i and they look great.
