most new car warenty is over after 60 k and if you drive the car the warenty is over in less than 2 years unless your afraid to drive the car

i do 30 to 60 k per year

 

or in the case of the new gt-r....if the dealership checks its black box and see's that you were driving aggressively or you turn the traction control off, your warrenty is voided.

 

Damien, no offense but I think you and your gf need to get off your high horses. Not everyone Makes as much money as you do. I personally can't afford much more than a cobalt if I plan on mods. I also can't afford to have a vehicle that costs me a ton in gas. I don't have the luxuries of family members helping me out(not saying you do). I have to work my ass of for what I got and that's what makes me appreciate it. I appreciate the value of a dollar more than you do aswell because money isn't easy to come by for some people. I don't believe any make or model of any car is any better than any other because today all new cars are junk, no matter what you buy. I know people with beamers and Benz that say they have horrible reliability.

Also I'm not sure dans the one that needs to "grow the **** up" here. All he did was state his opinion just like you and every other persone does.

I think that stupid.....what did they build that car for with 500hp If they don't warrenty it if it was driven hard......then again if you can afford that car, you could afford to fix it if it breaks IMO.

 

Jerren, i never said anything about the cost of my truck compaired to your cars. I never said anything about how much money we make. All i said is if people are that worried about how much gas your vehical uses, then you shouldnt be modding it. Like seriously, if you cant afford $60-100 to fill your gas tank up, how the hell can you afford to mod a car. I'm not pointing anyone out, im just saying.

And i agree about the make and model, hence why i went from chevy to nissan to dodge...makes no nevermind to me. But at the same time i cant ignore the fact that the cobalt gave me the most trouble. I owned the cobalt a year and half, been to the dealership more times then i can count. Had the 370z for 7-8 months, never had a issue with it. Owned the dodge for a few months now, never had a issue. And i drive/drove the 370z/ram harder then i drove the cobalt.


And yea it is gay about the warrenty on the GT-R. Alot of people went to nissan when they first heard that. The 2009 GT-R's dont have it but 2010+ have a black box that the dealership can look at it any time. If you deny them, voided, if it shows the VDC was turned off, braking, stearing, accelerating agrressively its voided. Very pointless for a $90,000 sports car.

 

The whole no warrenty thing isn't new. In the 60s when Chevrolet came out with the 483ci motors there was no warrenty on those cars cuz they knew people would beat on them. warrenty isn't designed to fix issues from tracking a car it's meant to fix manufacturers defects. (like u have Jerren lol )

 

u musta got a lemon i haven't been to a dealership once with my car in the 2 years i have owned it!!, but then again when u had a cobalt it was the best thing on the planet!!!... i just have to laugh at some of the **** that come out of your mouth!!! and why are u still on here??? it's a "COBALT FOURM" no one cares about your dodge..... but at least it's a domestic this time....lol

Exactly, who cares if someone mods a car, just because we mod a cary doesn't mean we have to race it, or have to drag it or whatever the **** you wanna do with cars. Some people like it as a hobby, or something to have fun with, so let them do that.

In all honesty, anyone of us could drive one of the cars you've bought, well your girlfriend, didn't she have to sign for the 370Z loan? But I'm sure some people are smarter and would rather keep an economy car for that matter, and still have 3/4 of a paycheck left, YET STILL HAVE FUN WITH IT. And for the record, the only people on here that I've heard "talk ****" have been you and Pykie. I don't hear Jerren boast out there how his car is faster then Dans and Chris's, or how he can take them in a race from a dig or a roll or from the parking lot in McDonalds for that matter. i enjoy my car, it was cheap, it's fast, i have fun with it, it's good on gas, and it didn't break the bank. frankly i don't care what anyone drives as long as they enjoy it. and for the record, just because someone doesn't race their car doesn't mean it's not fast or that they don't appreciate cars. Putting alot of work into a car doesn't mean it's good... hell look at pykie's (haha j/k bud). At the end of the day not everyone aspires to own the best car... they own what makes them happy and fits their budget. i personaly enjoy my little cobalt because i like being the one that doesn't attract the attention of ricers/cops/car theifs. I also enjoy the look on a persons face when i beat them in my 4 door cavalier. Say what you want about reliability .. all cars will have problems... some more than others... which is why i went with a car that has a 160k warranty.. and i've used it. You drive any high end sports car or expensive power house and you will have problems it's inevitable. Probably the only reason you don't hear about expensive cars breaking just as much is because the owners hide it out of embarrasment or they don't drive them daily which prevents wear. Also being a cheaper sports car means alot of young immature buyers who are known to beat these cars into submission ... so ya they break alot but in most cases because of drivers. sell corvettes cheap to young people and see how many come back broken... The Cobalt SS is a purpose built car... fast fun and cheap. I'm quite happy with GM so far and despite small things my little cobalt works for me. Having a vehicle that is expensive, eats gas like a pig, sounds mean or looks amazing isn't the end all be all. If that's what people believe then they are matierialistic and care too much what others think. If i wanted a gas hog v8 i could have bought one... but in the end the gas mileage would kill me, more expensive oil changes, more expensive parts and alot less practical. i drive 150km a day round trip, Ya i could afford the gas... but do i want to? hell no. i'm sorry but going 600+ km on $45 is great compared to $100+ on 350km. saying that someone who can't afford gas shouldn't have cars as a hobby is kind of ignorant. especially saying it on a site that is dedicated to car enthusiasts who chose this car for those reasons.

he this is car was the ****, when 1. he has under glow, 2. when he lowered it hit a curb scratched the **** out of the lip, 3. didnt know how to drive a lowered car fucked his H/E and it always leaked, 4. put a fair amount into it only made 245whp and 219 tq (before tvs) 5. did the wingless look and couldnt afford to get holes filled, 6. sorry for everyone who has them but putt the hidious 1st gen halos in. sure my car might of been rice at one point, with the body kit but atlease the body kit was a nice kit and looked good. i started out not liking dan after him and i got into it a few times, but i talk to him now i get along with him now, and i love how you rip on him about his car, sorry his car is nice, silver is a rare color around here on the ss s/c and i dont know for a fact but i think hes doing decent so far with the money he has to put into his car, not all of us can afford to do what i have done to mine, or u withurs.

i have no problem admitting damien can work on his vehicles chris...everything i've seen him do has been clean and he can spell better than you too haha but the fact of the matter is any car can be nice... you don't have to have a big engine and a second mortgage to be able to appreciate a nice vehicle or go fast reliably. comparing apples to oranges by comparing an srt10 ram to a cobalt ss... and there are plenty of cobalts on here that aren't built muscle cars that can easily hand you your ass damien so careful with your words lol

 

lol, im not denying i could get handed by a cobalt. My buddies SS/TC beat me every time when i had the cobalt and a few times on the strip when i had the Z and i beat him a few times also. Only difference between him and certain people is, he actualy has the ***** to race me, well not really *****, we go to the track line up and have fun. Hell during the cobalt meet me and him lined up like 10 times. But seems like some people are scared of the results and dont even bother and instead make **** pour excuses. Like i said, no doubt in my mind a cobalt can take me, im not perfect, but no one ever wants to walk the walk sort of speak.
