If you do get a Jeep in the near future, have fun with the gas/offroad bill. I came from a Jeep to a cobalt. Back when gas was 1.20$/L I would fill up around $100 and that would last me just over 350kms. Once you start with the offloading, it gets costly with mods or just repairing broken ****, been there done that heh. Believe me, lots of fun but it's quite the money pit. Just like modding our cars I guess

well I'm kinda thinking on getting my gm stgII tune replaced with the trifecta gm stgIII stock tune. Sense the a/c is now able to be kept running. I have heard good things about it. And i should run alittle faster and stronger with the stg3 tune file. The only part im curious about is how will the gm stg3 work on a gm stg2 pulley. I dont have the gm stg3 pulley. So i'd be running the stg3 tune on the stg 2 pulley. Anyone know how that would work ?

what are the pulley size differences? and what injectors do you have? If you have 60's you should be fine, worst that will happen is your tune might be abit rich but not by much. But if you only have 42lb injectors you might want to get those upgraded before adding a new tune.

I have the gm stage 2 kit installed from factory. So i currently have #42 injectors. BUT.... The gm Stage 3 kit ALSO uses the exact same #42 injetors. The only difference in gm's stage 2 and three. Is the tune file itself and the SLIGHTLY smaller pulley. Stage 2 puley is a 3.06 ( 79.9mm)Inch pulley. And the stage 3 pulley is a 2.99" (76mm) pulley. So there really isn't alot of a size difference. But it is abit smaller.

the biggest differance from stage 2 to 3, is the stage 3 kit the car makes about 12-15whp less

Brad at double Z has a 07 ss s/c with the gm stage 2 made i think 226whp, when he pit the stage 3 on it made 212whp

Brad sold that car over a year ago. He is one of my freinds. I have had that car to drive as a daily driver for days on end before when ever my car was at his shop. And i can tell you. His satge 3 was faster then my stage 2. It doesnt make sense for the stage 3 to be 10-15 whp LESS ??

Also, brads car went from BONE stock dyno 220 ish whp to going STRAIGHT to stage 3 and was re-dynoed at 231 whp !!

Just so ya know !!

as i remeber the graph also they were using uncoreted corection the number can be 0 to 20 hp more on a 200 whp car depending on the air quality

its like comparing a orange to a apple

take one of your car that made 220 whp on july day and put it today on the dyno using the uncrected corection there could be as much or more that 20 more whp

that why i used corection sae and some use std corection it use 5 item in corection to get a standard whp so you can compare at anytime or from car to car whit in a few hp differance

the 5 item uses are absolute pressure in-hg , vapor pressor in-hg, air temp, humidity and altitude whit that it will caculate a standdard whp

uncorected all that out the window and just read what the drum say for hp

uncorected is what you made at that time but cant be used for comparing number because there other factor like the 5 posted above that will afect the whp

i agree, alot of people dont think about those corrections and difference in numbers they make. Some people will go around saying they make, lets say 200hp which was corrected then go to another dyno after mods and dyno 250hp uncorrected. They will think they made 50hp gain but in reality they made 20-30hp increase, cobalts have what 15-17% drivetrain loss. Even when its corrected its not the true whp. Dynos can account for every factor.

Theres actualy a big discussion on the srt-10 forums about CAI and the power they make. drop in filters make the same exact power as a full cai on a dyno but when driving you get better air velocity and the cai becomes abit better.

From what i have learned by making mistakes and getting hung up on numbers is, go to a dyno, get a baseline run with corrected numbers. Go to the track, see what your time and trap speed is, mainly trap speed. Then do your mods, redyno at the same dyno and as close to the same conditions as possible as baseline, and then go to the track again. When i had the cobalt with 2.8/60/meth and all that i was hitting 101mph, with the tvs set up i was hitting 109mph. Thats the only way to get a good idea of what mods do for the car.

car might not see nova scotia roads again for a while, might be moving in jan if things dont get better where i am working now.
if i dont move the car will not be out unless its painted, took it 25kms back in the woods in tatamagouch to bait my buddies deerstand at his hunting camp, roads were awesome for the most part haha just have 2 big ol scratches in t he clear on one side, and lots of scratches on the car from speedsport, and car cover. plus seems to be a dent above the door on my car too :S not sure how that got there... so all these t hings are being fixed now.
but trust me my car is never a lie, it may take me some time to do things but it does get done. took me 2 yrs to turbo it, and it got done :P haha
just not sure what paint i will be going with sense synergy green is pricey.
