Im not hiding behind any computer. But what ever you think. Your opionion matters not to me. I wouldn't have said anything if i wasn't in a bad mood and you just rubbed me the wrong way about how super fast your stupid gay neon is ! They suck... plain and simple. Just like coblats. They are built poorly, look like crap and are a CHEAP means of getting SOME decent power. At the end of the day an srt4 is just a neon. And a cobalt is just a redesigned cavalier. They both are entry level crappy bulit cars that really aren't gonna last very long.

 

was calling shops today to see the damage on going with a muffler delete.. Midas told me no way can they do it i wont pass safety after because u require a muffler... My question back was don't SRT4s come without a muffler from the factory ... how do they pass? he said he wasn't familiar with the car but he wouldn't pass it without a muffler... is this guy being a tool chest or is there somewhere else i can look to get this done...? also was led to believe that n e thing that restricts exhaust flow (other than a cat) is considered a muffler in NS and will pass... is this BS as well ?

 

The new bpv didn't do any different.....on a journey back to stock I go starting this weekend and the following weekend.

 

May even pull the stage kit out and put the stock sensors in and flash it with the stock file from hpt.

 

Thats gotta be kinda depressing !! I heard the noise your car makes. And it doesn't sound good. You havent had any luck with your car sense you first started modding it. I hope you have some luck finding out what the issue is. I'm alittle surprized the dealer can't find out whats going on with your car. Then again....... It's the dealer !! Hope you figure it out before you just plain get rid of it !

I think the srt4 passes because its designed to work with a single high flow cat and it comes that way from the factory.. Ours doesnt.. Not sure about the specifics though..

 

What about James at Ravens? I'm sure he'd be able to do it. A lot of other shops like Midas wouldn't want to touch the car as they'd have no idea what they are doing i'm sure, but atleast James would have some clue....

I'm gonna check check the entire system for leaks and **** next weekend, if I don't find anything I'm gonna reflash it with another 09 gms1 file, if that doesn't work, theres a guy who wants to ake over my payments.

Term still thinks it's a boost leak or an issue with the tune itself. Time will tell.

 

Hey does anybody know if caroll pontiac in bedford is going out of business? I just got a email saying there selling everything in their building including oil, tires, tools, benches etc.

 

Carroll Pontiac has already gone out of business. They are now Carroll Buick GMC i do believe. I'm not sure if they are now going under, but they have been under the new name for a few months i believe so.

 

srt4 came like that factory that why they dont need a muffler

i have cone at the shop that you can put in the muffler it make like a baffle that will pass inspection

i think i paid like 100 dollars for it i have a 2.5 and 3 inch

i maybe going up for the cruise at lowmotion this month let me know if you want one i can bring both

I have never even heard of these b4 how much do they muffle noise / are u sure it is considered a "muffler". I would be interested in this for sure, when are you coming down this way ?. Also i would be mounting this in a straight pipe not in a muffler like you suggested ... will this still get me through safety ?

yes that what i have whit that in they cant call it a strait true muffler its a baffle

 

nice so if im understanding i still need to run a straight through muffler and then this on the end? or can i just cut out the muffler and put this in the straight 2.5" pipe ?

 

i agree. If it isnt what they own, they dont like it. I would take my dodge over the cobalt anyday. I never once had a problem with the 370z or my truck and i drove both harder then i did with the cobalt. But yet the cobalt was breaking before i even modded anything. And if people are so worried about gas, well then i suggest you should start finding a different hobbie.

ya im gonna have to disagree on that one... you can enjoy cars and not have to take out a second mortgage for gas money...or to go fast.. a balt is nowhere near reliable but that's why it has a warranty in the end i could care less if it's reliable when it gets fixed for free..with very little down time. besides that not all of us want a vehicle that attracts alot of attention.

 

im pretty sure if it comes down to that, then you probably shouldnt be owning a car in the first place.

whats that got to do with gas? I think its safe to say i probably have the worst vehical for gas mileage that is known as a daily driver. And yet i could care less, im not going to not buy a vehical i want because it sucks on gas. Yea sure its nice to save abit more money but when people are into cars and like a certain car but get another one because of the mileage u get, its retarded.

 

not everyone is blessed with salaries like us bro.. to some people a little thing like that does matter..
