the only other way to pull an RPM referance is to lock the car down in a gear at a specific RPM and then match dyno speed to your gear ratio...

or pull the current pulse from a coil pack....

vary simple to do, just not overly accurit.

the dyno has to know what RPM your spining tart boy!

When on a Mustang dyno you hold the rpms in the car to 3000 constant and the honk the horn for the dyno operator to hit the enter key. This sinks the dyno with the cars rpms. That's how my local shop does it, and no spark wire is required.

yes it MUST know engine speed...the process at which it gets that info can varry tho...

you can not have horsepower with out RPM as a factor.

i went about 3 weeks ago. yea he is going to tune my car also. not i have the RKsport G5 hood and its a real ram air hood that that should but me at about 170whp. not bad for all bolt ons
