Official Dyno Thread.
Dyno numbers are just numbers. I like the tune I have. Tons more power over the Stage 2 I was running, nice and safe with no knock across the board and gained 6 mpg up to 35 now on the highway according to the DIC. There was plenty more room to up the timing but I'd like it to last me a little while.
Don't want to be one of these guys that jacks the timing up to the roof to get a high HP/TQ number and then 6 months later is posting about a busted motor.

or pull the current pulse from a coil pack....
vary simple to do, just not overly accurit.
the dyno has to know what RPM your spining tart boy!
Bryan>Bryan.
When on a Mustang dyno you hold the rpms in the car to 3000 constant and the honk the horn for the dyno operator to hit the enter key. This sinks the dyno with the cars rpms. That's how my local shop does it, and no spark wire is required.
you can not have horsepower with out RPM as a factor.

the only other way to pull an RPM referance is to lock the car down in a gear at a specific RPM and then match dyno speed to your gear ratio...
