Official Dyno Thread.
Hmm, These numbers are posted in a hierarchy but Mustang and DynoJet numbers are commingled... There should be a numerical adjustment to even the field when comparing the numbers from both types of dynos to get a true picture of the hierarchy...
he said he's not doing this because there's no science to it .. not all dynos are alike.. one DJ can read 15% different from a mustang while another can read exactly the same...
230/ 190 on a Mustang Dyno, which is about 261/ 216 on a DynoJet. The mods I had at that time were Custom CAI, Custom dual side exit catback exhaust, and a great tune by Matt @ TuneTimePerformance. Ill post up a dyno sheet later.
post up you dyno sheet and ill be glad to add you to the list
According to an article I read that did back-to-back testing on a Dynojet and Mustang Dyno using an '00 six-speed Z28 Camaro:
"The Dynojet measured 5.1 percent higher horsepower in Fourth gear, 7 percent higher horsepower in Third gear ..."
So using the above adjustment numbers, your Dynojet figures are more like 241-246whp and 199-203wtq.
Considering your hp related mods of a CAI and an exhaust with stock resonator and Y-pipe w/glass packs, that seems reasonable.
And dubs 258/230 is actually closer to 271-276whp, 241-246wtq. on a Dynojet.

it all depends on calibration too he's not going to convert it.. so people stop pressing the issue

I'm not "pressing" anything. Just reporting on a test.
Secondly, your reply indicates you missed the point.
The test was back-to-back testing of a Dynojet vs. Mustang dyno.
No arguing there.
If you don't like the results, then give me another article where back-to-back dyno testing was done with the same car with those two dynos.
LOL

Ahh well.
I guess my setup is weak then.
Carolina Auto Master's tune on a 2.8 pulley & 60#ers only netted me 242whp/227tq on a Dynojet. But my AFR stays under 12 past 2500 rpms
Nice safe strong tune and a 23% IDC.

I'm fine w/ that...
Dubs, I was using that article to simply project #'s from what you had reported.
That was all. It was not meant as a personal atttack against yourself/your car's performance.
I would really appreciate it if you stopped using such demeaning remarks as "use your head".
It's rude, and doesn't befit the otherwise friendly presence you relate to people when speaking to them in person (as have we).
I was just extrapolating #'s for people's thoughts/input.
What in the heck is up with everybody around here?
There's absolutely nothing wrong with you posting your dyno #'s on a forum with people who share similar vehicles/interests. Doing so should make it informative for the rest of us which should then lead to worthwhile discussion (supposed to anyway).
Wow.
????

The Mustang dyno at TTP is 13.5% lower than standard dynojet #'s. Typical mustangs are 12% lower. That all changes from dyno to dyno. I could care less if he converts the #'s and what they would be. ...
What in the heck is up with everybody around here?
I should have never mentioned anything in the first place about what my numbers could be, cause it doesn't freakin' matter anyways. ...
Bottom line is, my car made 258whp on a dyno and I guarantee my car will smoke any other car w/ similar #'s. Take it however you want....
I'm fine w/ that...

I have no issues w/ pointing out the obvious, regardless if the communication being in person or online. I would have said the same thing in person. USE YOUR HEAD FRANK!!!
I don't care if you think it's rude. You should know from dealing w/ me in person that I would have a smile on my face while yelling at you. I'm a ball buster. Cup check?!?

As of late, I've noticed that you haven't been taking sufficient time to review the content of your statements before posting them (whether they be automotive or personal).
^And now we finally get to the heart of the problem.
I go to great lengths in my life in trying to avoid people who have confessed exactly what you just did.
Life is too short man. I don't have the time, energy, or desire to interact with such people.
So please avoid replying to my posts, as I will now stop responding to yours.
The ball was in your court man, and you blew it ...

I'm suprised that he even has time to respond- seeing as how he has a wife, I mean finance, and a life.
Back to topic now...
