I'm currently working on a Saab also and haven't touched my cobalt all winter.

They run well on e47. Hope you aren't running 91 because you will be disappointed.

I installed a new fog light switch. Then I rubbed all 4 wheels and tires down with ghost peppers to teach the dog that keeps pissing on them a lesson he'll never forget.

Thankfully mine is garaged. Be guns do wonders in scaring off dogs who like to use your wheels as a urinal....

My moms dog used to chew on the baseboards, she tried this trick and he only did it more! She didn't have ghost peppers mind you. But the dog LOVED it! Fortunately he grew out of that phase and my dad replaced all the baseboards.

Thanks. I was only tempted to drop in a junkyard motor because I was afraid to open the motor up. Turns out it was jut a spun bearing on #1 and no major damage to the crank. It's running now but now I hear a lash adjuster is bad, and has a couple leaking coolant hoses. Nothing major.

Really my goal is to sell the car. Pay down some debt. I recently built a serious 4k editing rig and I've been making some cool stuff with After Effects and Photoshop from scratch. So that may become my new hobby. I got a great deal on Black Friday. And I mean a great deal. My original projection was $2500 to build it but after rebates I got out for $1800 including monitor.

I drove it yesterday and man it feels better to drive than the fiesta...

What do you think caused the bearing to spin? I see it happen often but I never know if it is just bad luck or it got briefly oil starved or something.

I had an oil leak and the oil blew out. Not the first time either. Before this it ran out and I figured it was my ghetto oil separator causing blow by. The lifter clattered than but I heard nothing this time until it started knocking. I'd just checked the oil the day before too

I guess it's because I've driven it so long, but it just feels so much more natural even though it's way lower to the ground
