Appearance: Debadging the rear
grrrrr my emblem doesn't wanna come off for ****!! i tried fishing line, credit card, screwdriver (i was careful) and my hand (which hurt like hell!!!!) it's like super glued on there!! however i did get 1 side loose....looks like i gotta run extention cord for a hair dryer for last resort =/
just took my rear bowtie off last nite....Heat and fishing line for the badge. Heat and peel the black foam, and then soak a corner of a rag with zippo lighter fluid and rub to get rid of the adhesive. I clay barred to get rid of the little bit of cloudiness that was around the outside edges of the foam, and then threw a little wax on it in the meantime till I finish the rest of the badges and do a more detail seal and wax.
Great write-up, there were some real helpful hints on here.

im amazed sometimes....
maybe it's cause my car is so new, but @ 50 some degrees outside and with a wind chill i removed my lettering just fine with just a starbucks gift card.... no issues.

Best Way To Get Rid Of Glue Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey I just did mine,
I tried goo gone and rubbing alchohol to get rid of the glue and they both sucked ass.
Then I tried turtle wax brand bug and tar remover and it came off easy as can be.
bug and tar remover ftw!

and bought a trailblazer ss for the front where i took off the bow tie if u look real close u can still see a hole where the bowtie was

Debagging
This was my debagging process. To remove the glue underneath the Chevy Bowtie, I used lacquer thinner and a lint free cloth (just make sure you clean it up real nice after you put the lacquer thinner on your car). It pulled the glue off just about instantaneously. Under the letters, the glue was so thin, it just peeled right off, so that was easy enough.
But, this is what I started with

Then I took off the bowtie

Then the letters (and the tacky dealership logo)

I liked the way the total debagging looked, but after poking around these forums, I liked how some people rearranged the letters. All I did, is keep the LT in there also
And yes, the car is dirty, the bath was next

but i showed gains of 15whp and 12ft/tq....mmmm...maybe you need a tune?
Hmm...I need to get on this. I plan on debadging the COBALT (so if anyone needs the letters, let me know), move the SS probably centered and move the bowtie OVER the trunk lock. Surprised no one has pics of this already, I know I've seen it done. Looks clean without spending money to shave and repaint. I'll get pics as soon as I can get it done.
if your talking about the bowtie it has 2 screws in it but they unbolt easy but if u take it off ur gonna have 4 holes there i took mine off and used a bowtie there but i used a trailblazer bowtie its bigger and covers the holes better
on the back just heat it up with a blow dryier for like 2 mins then get the fishing line and work your way around its easy and after its off just start rolling the tape crap off ur car it will all start coming off easy if u roll it
