I debadged the front and rear and also painted the bowties black for my car about a month ago. Looks pretty neat I think

probably a stupid question but does this void the warrenty? i bought a SS emblem and took the chevy symbol off the front and put the SS up there, wanted to do this to the back, just wondering does it void the warrenty

No..unless you remove a sticker that says DO NOT REMOVE or modify a part of the car that increases the chance of something getting screwed up in it, the warranty will not be voided. And the last time i checked, badges aren't an important part of the movement and performance of your car. My mother tried to make that same claim though when I went to debadge my car.

I debadged mine, and as soon as I did it people were like, "damn your car looks clean as hell with the emblems off"
I also had the ugly ass side strips...shaved everyhting the 2nd day I got it... with like 9 miles on the odometer.

blow dryer/ sun... lots of goo gone fingernails and maybe a rag. lol
after I shaved mine I buffed out the trunk cuz there was still a ghost of the emblems even though the car was brand new...oh well looks tight.
another cool trick you can do is put the emblems on the dash trim or something.
I painted my rear bowtie black and mounted it on my amp. and the little square GM emblems are up on my dash trim. and I have a "CHEVROLET" emblem I pulled off of my old cavalier I painted black and mounted to the dash

I don't have the time to read all the posts and see if someone has already posted another way to debadge the car, waxed dental floss. Everyone should have this stuff and it slices the backing like butter. It also doesn't hurt your paint job.

Debadging? GM makes some nice looking emblems so I think I'd like to show them off instead taking them off. Heck, I even ADDED one to the back of my SS sedan.
Sorry for the lousy pic at night.
