Interior: How To Install An Armrset
After finding the right socket, took no time at all...It will take some getting used to though with it there. I know for highway driving it will be greatly appreciated by me and my passangers :P
everything comes with it.
you get a new rear cupholder, because the armrest goes into a spot where your old cupholder would no longer fit properly.
so you get a new, shortened one, so you can have both your armrest AND your rear cupholders.
Still after all this time my favorite mod.

So I finally got mine from my job. It only took a month since the idiots ordered me a grey one to match the seats when I wanted a black one to match the console.
Anyways. I had to get everything seperate; the armrest, cupholder, bracket. My question is where do I get the screws? Apparently my parts department told me I have to get them elsewhere. Can I simply go to a home depot or lowe's to get the 4 10mm screws?

Did mine today. Turned out pretty good. The inside has a rubbery liner to prevent stuff sliding around, and the top of it where your arm rests is a rubbery material that is much nicer than just plastic. Nothing too luxurious but not as cheap as I thought it would be.
Other thoughts:
I highly recommend taking off the entire console as it is much easier to install the armrest with it out of the way.
For those questioning the clearance... there are NO issues with clearing the e-brake or shifter.
The armrest should have come with the car from the factory.

I was just gonna say that. I won one off ebay (ebony) for $50 so I put that in, looks great, it's nice having a little extra room to put stuff and that armrest to... rest your arm on. Gets in the way of the park brake, but really, who uses a park brake in an auto?
All the Cobalts we've had in at work haven't had an armrest. G5's don't come standard with them either.
