Drivetrain: How-To: Install B&M Shiftplus

You may believe him but I frankly don't. The pump isn't effected by it. All it does is trick the computer to think there is more pressure in the lines than there really is. This forces the transmission to shift before it really needs to which in return gives you a quicker shift. I have had mine now for almost 2 yrs installed with no problems. I also have friends that have had them installed on cavi's for over 5 yrs with no problems. Last but not least they do offer quicker shifting. I have time slips from my local track last summer that it shaved .2 seconds off my quarter mile time and that was only in stage 1. Stage 2 was too much and caused the tires to break out but with softer tires I think it would help even more.

soldered mine, havnt had a problem since. i think its been about 5 months now.
I have had the shift+ for over a year and i turned it off stg 1 for one of the first times yesterday, the lag between shifts was literally like a full 2-3 seconds. pretty sure somethings wearing out....

I can't turn mine off either. I can't drive a car with a stock automatic transmission anymore, it annoys the hell out of me.

You're welcome
I don't think your tranny is fucked up, that's just how it was stock and you've forgotten how shitty it was before you had the shift plus

I have wire taps on mine and occasionally they lose connection on the transmission therefore the Shiftplus stops working.
I absolutely can NOT drive the car without it, I have to pull over and mess with the wire taps until they start working again.

BTW, for everyone tht has this, i got really tired of the big ass switch on the shift+, so i cut it off =)
dont worrry, just buy a 3way switch from radioshack and have a nice built in switch. 3 wires go to the switch. black is the center (ground) red stg 1 and white stg 2.
what actually does the work are the resistors in the thing halfway up the wire.

well thats a little different, i kno how to do this and its not that hard, and u are correct about how it works, but that is the box half way up the wire. I just switched out the end of it. that huge black thing is just a switch.

Nevermind, I missed it haha, I didn't use those pink connectors though, they were holding well enough, I just wrapped the wires and tapped them up.
