Just a heads up guys...i know its not the most accurate thing in the world, but based on my ignition timing, AFR, and MAF readings, my interceptor is telling me im making about 240bhp during the day, and 250bhp during the cooler nights. im curious what itll do in winter....

Run a smaller pulley!! 11 PSI is WEAK!!

Dude you should really look over your intercooler system though. Just go on crate engine depot and take a close look at their diagram. Cause we fucked up big on mine; thankfully it's fixed. Hope you did yours correctly. Cause I was seeing 200+ IAT2s, and they wouldn't drop even under normal driving conditions.

haha depends how much you would pay. It was about $2000 for the parts necessary to SC the car, but then I have add-ons like interceptors and whatnot

That's the thing.. I wouldn't do this until I could do it right.. I'd have to run full mods from the get-go.. None of that stock airbox and ****.. Screw that.. Injen, Stage 2, etc.. Make it worth it..

LOL yea way outside my "financial possibility range lol" Regardless. Well done sir! If your ever in Ohio I want to drive that puppy! haha

I think i'm just going to stay n/a until my buyout on my lease is done. Part it out, use the money from parts as down payment for ss/tc.

Damm for 2 grand you could of went turbo with more hp im guessing and less temperatures with a intercooler. Lol, still good job on surcharging the 2.2, auto. Props for you on that.

... only with a shitty turbo.. good turbos range from 600-1600 bux or more... custom dp 300-1k.. fmic 60-700 universal piping 100-200, turbo hardware 100, manifold 300-600 and tuning 250

one of my friends ran a budget turbo setup on his old ion and it ran him about 2500

Ha i jsut found a turbonetics t3 .58 with external wastegate locally for $300 that has been fully rebuilt with no shaft play and paperwork. Turbonetics is one of the best turbos you can get. Also found a tial 38mm wastegate brand new on craigslist for $125. Found a greddy bov for $70. Found a 2.5" intercooler with universal piping on ebay for $200. Manifold from gm with external wastegate is $300. Tuning is $250. I have a friend of mine at work that welds and told me he would weld up all my piping and make me a downpipe so it would cost me $100. Not sure where your getting your numbers at but 1000 for a downpipe????? If you can shop around and install the turbo kit yourself with a friend you can save alot of cash. Really if you dont plan to learn and install the kit yourself you really shouldnt go turbo because when something goes wrong you better beable to fix it or the labor could start adding up fast.

Nah man you did good with the supercharger on your car as i am really considering the same route but i am debating it though with a supercharger after finding a good local buy on a turbonetics t3 chrome plated turbo and tial 38 mm wastegate for cheap. Still debating on supercharger or turbocharger though.

ok soo you went with a rebuild turbo.. i went with new.. and you have a friend doing labor for you so there goes that number.. and saab manifold? why the FAWK would you spend 300 on the saab manifold or whatever from gm?

1k for a dp.. somoen on here spent that much and had every reason to that piece was a work of art.. hense why i said a range of 300 -1k though.. it's not the norm

i'm talking about brand new things here not rebuilt and going on average prices of things .. normally the bov and wastegate you listed aren't those prices.. what kninda welder does he have.. ? and what has he welded before... going custom you save alot .. but doing it right the first time is still going to cost some money..

its hard to say how long it took. i worked one night for 10 hrs, and another day for 8 hrs, and then just miscellaneous hour here hour there while I was waiting for parts to arrive, however, there was a lot of trial and error throughout the process, and a second time through would be MUCH faster. I can tell you I took the M62 off the manifold atleast 6 times during install.

Maybe a stupid question. Could one use the 2.4 Throttle Body so we don't have to buy a 2.0 TB

I dont believe so. The 2.0 TB has a little nub sticking out for a vaccuum line to attach to that the 2.2 TB doesnt have, and I dont believe the 2.4 TB would have this nub either.
