Ideas for Va Beach and Tidewater region Cobalts
I know I want it on her car, but she's saying no and doesn't want to race again. She likes racing, but is a horrible sport about losing. She almost went off on the guy who took second because he kept sandbagging on her last year. She knew he was doing it because she was running her times and cutting better trees than me. Realistically, she should beat me in racing. In fact, she was ahead of me in points most of the year, then she missed one event and I switched my slicks to nitrogen and I went to the final round in 2 of the 3 final events.
I just ordered DSS s2 axles and the OTTP s1 kit with the 2.8, 60 #'s, and a tune. Unless you've done something else to your Cobalt I think that at the same track on the same day I may be faster. ...and that's just the beginning. That Spec flywheel really freed up some power. It is much lighter than the OEM flywheel. The difference in rotational mass is very recognizable.
Neck is getting better. Do not see the Doc until th 13th of March and hopefully I can go back to work.
Just installed some 60# and a 2.8 plus I am still tweaking the tune since I bought HPTuners. Going to buy the rotated trans mounts in a couple of weeks.
If you change your digits let me know. I will be out there at Ft. Eustis before to long spending a wonderful 6 weeks there.

When you come out are you bringing the balt, or flying? When you come out you'll have to meet up with the local crowd. There are some really knowledgable people out here. One or two of them may be able to give you some pointers on tuning.
Btw, Kim is looking at going turbo on her car. She's looking at the Hahn kit for the LE5. Hahn claims 290bhp. I've told her I can do that and try to find a way to eliminate potential wheel hop without compromising the stock ride quality she loves so much. She'll need to upgrade her clutch, and has a really good deal on the table. For some reason she is hesitant to do it. I still can't get her tint her windows.

Well my 4 day weekend starts today.... thank god i have some time off... the last few months we've been working like we were getting to deploy... well i guess we did help another squadron deploy since they couldn't handle it themselves... this squardon has 4 planes, and all of them were broken when they got on the ship so they left thier planes behind for us to fix and send out to them... GHEY. i don't know how they are going to survive cruise....
I just talked to the guys at oceana, and they said they don't have an engine support brace, but they do have an engine support stand, they also said they should have everything we need to to the job. The only thing thats not ready is they flywheel... I still have to find a place to get it resurfaced, I don't really know how long it takes to get it resurfaced.
Well I've called about 10 machine shops that said they can resurface it in about an hour to two hours, but most of them close at noon on Saturday... so we would need to have it out pretty early. I've called a few more and found Tidewater Machine, Their closed on saturdays, but the guy said him and a few other guys will be there and they should be able to get it done for me...

Anybody know how to get a hold of Doc? I have a question, or could use some help from somebody who has the licenses for the 05-07 Cobalts. I just need a scan of my stock tune so that I can email it to OTTP. This way they can modify it, email it to me, and then somebody can plug it into my car. My axles arrive on thursday, and my stage kit arrives friday. If possible, I'd like to have everything complete by friday night so that I can help Warren do his clutch on saturday and bring my car to the meet on saturday night. Axles are easy. Imay just need some help with getting the stage kit installed, via pulling the stock pulley off the supercharger.
Get in touch with Joe. His screen name is BennyHHR on this forum. He'll probably see this and send you a message on the forum. Either that or you could just send one to him yourself. That'll probably be the easiest way to get the scan done since you can't get to doc.
Sounds like we'll have to work fast. I'll bring my tools so that nobody is waiting to use something.

Danew, good news. Got a response from VMP about registration already. It goes...
Hey Connor,
Thanks for your interest In VMP. He may register for the ET Points program at any point throughout the year. We would have to have his car so that way it can be expressed teched. It won't be a problem for us to register him in May.
Marc Wesler
VMP Track Manager
not sure, but i think it might have to do with a thurough inspection and the issuing of a tech number that is good for the entire year so that you never have to go through tech again throughout the year. in salt lake it was called annual tech.
no problem.
no problem.

Shoot, how did you learn to "drive the car again" while it's being highly modified and your ass is on a boat???
I'm sorry. I meant your clutch. I'm one of those people who has a hard time keeping names straight until I've actually met the person. As for the meet, Justin has the 411. But, some info you should consider, a new clutch has a break-in period of 500 miles of city driving without being hard on the accelerator. This allows it to have a few heat cycles for its break-in.
Greetings to everyone from the good ol' UAE again. Finally my deployment is winding down and hopefully soon be off this hell hole of a ship. How's everyone and what's bben going on?
You enjoying yourself up there? I'm much further down the coastline chasing zebra painted skiffs. lol
I'm so happy this is almost over. It's been way too long we've been gone from home.
Shut up old man!
you know what I meant.
