I have had my 07 lsj cobalt for about a year now. A few days ago my buddy helped me do the dual pass and option b. We used the new videos Tyler from ZZP made as a guide. We also replaced the intercooler pump and supercharger coupler. Everything is put back together and the car starts up first crank when its been sitting, however the hoses don't feel like they're full of coolant so the pump must not be running. I took it for a test drive anyway and the car shutoff at about 5500 rpm. It wouldn't startup again for about 5 min and when it did the digital coolant gauge on the dash went to 26 degrees C (79 F) and wouldn't move off of it.

He ended up finding a solution but I'm having a hard time understanding what he did to fix it.
If anyone could give any input on what he meant that would be awesome!

 

The coolant temp display on the dash and the intercooler coolant system are not linked. The cluster displays the engine's coolant temperature, which is a separate system.

The intercooler pump is a simple 12VDC system though. Easy to diagnose. With that said, if it doesn't have an ample supply of coolant fed into it, it cannot pump anything. Check your system for leaks and kinks in the hoses. Verify that you have coolant in the intercooler system and that it is flowing before you go ripping on the car anymore. You can cause damage to your engine by running it hard with a non-functional intercooler as the intake temps will get superheated.

 

You very well could have air in you intercooler, like he said, make sure you are full of antifreeze while engine is running, slowly top it off and then wait. Keep adding coolant untill the fill-tube is full to the top. You WILL see coolant flowing if the pump works.
