Devin got my vin and calibration number so the dealer already downloaded my tune file. All I need to do is show up and have them flash it to the car, 30 min tops I suppose. Right now the stock tc/ss boosts to 15/17 psi. after the kit it should be around 21 psi so it should be a nice bump. With the injen charge pipe and k&n drop in, sucker should be loud too.

There was one TC/ss owner that already got the stage kit...I think one of those guys down in southern mn.

We'll just have to wait and see when more checks start rolling in, what I'm thinking at that time. I'm pretty psyched and set on doing the SC build for now though...so hopefully it stays that way. Like I said, we'll wait and see what happens tomorrow with my wheels and if they sell, I may have an exhaust system on my car in the upcoming couple weeks...just gotta get that other header for now.

This is what the Pacesetter and Exhaust Depot DP look like where they connect...the hardware pictured...just want to make sure it appears to be just a bolt, washer, nut on each side correct? Sorry if the question sounds stupid, but I wanna stop at the hardware store and match up the nut/bolt's I'll need to get it installed. Will be ordering the gasket for it from JEGS within a few days as well.
its shiny! you got the downpipe used? they usually come with bolts...but ya a high grade bolt, washer and nut. like grade 8? then its real hard and wont warp.

Well I got the header and DP "new" as in never installed, but they swapped hands a couple times because the orginal owner went a different route, then the last person just never got around to installing them. Now I'm the third owner.

And, 09cobylt, you aren't the only one....I have the exact same setup as you for "performance" parts...stock 2.2 with an Injen (only difference is yours is probably faster than mine with the LAP, but I have a bunch of suspension mods done). That's all I have installed for that stuff right now....I'm not intimidated by these guys though...they're just compensating by buying TC's....LOL.

My condolences as well...I lost my dad Feb. 6th of 2006. It's hard to believe it's been 4 years...he would be 60 this year. And I've never met any of these guys except Dave once for only a couple minutes...plus Parnell is a friend on Facebook, but haven't met him in person.

P...you know it...that's how we roll...Dave is an outsider though...don't know what he's doing with a 2.2...he should get a SS/TC sedan. BTW, are you heading to the dealer now? I'm going to get my son some breakfast made real quick, then I'm going to head out and either cruise around or head to Friendly if you're going there.

Oh OK...didn't know where you lived from there.

BTW, in case we're on separate pages....that pic I posted was a photo from Exhaust Depot's website of the underside of the car with the header/DP installed. I just have the black painted header because I'm cheap...however, I do have a co-worker who has a hookup on getting headers coated and I guess he's getting the headers for his Chevy pickup done really cheap...I asked him to get me a quote on getting the Pacesetter coated. If it's cheap enough, I'm going to have it done so it looks nicer...not to mention it will hold the heat in more so the engine bay doesn't get as hot.

What percent tint did you get? I have 35% (technically I think it's 40%, but meters 35% because of what's on the windows from the factory)....I'd like to drop down to 30% (not sure I want to go all the way to 20% and nothing darker for sure.

Did you just get a ticket for having the tint or is it a fix it ticket saying you have to remove the tint?

And it was nice to meet you guys...Jeff, Parnell, Devin (even though you don't seem to speak...might have something to do with sitting in the back seat). Car seemed fast as **** to me...I only got up to about 85 by the time we were on the highway...but also having Oliver with (my son), I didn't want to put him at any more risk. I backed off once I was on 694. You guys must have been at least doing a "little" more than me though.

Jeff, you really like those KDW2's? They look nice on the car. I need to pick up some black headlights...either the Gen 4 projectors with HID's or there's a local Cobalt for sale that has 2-tone paint and other stuff on MNSportCompacts...I'm trying to convince the owner to swap me plus I'll give him some cash, but so far it's a no go.

I haven't heard anything from the guy that's supposed to check the wheels out...hopefully he sends a text or calls soon...otherwise I fear I may be holding on to them longer...in which case I will have to just buy some damn tires. See, now you can tell how indecisive I am about things...I have a plate full of items I need to install, but only have some of everything and it's like "what do I finish first?" So annoying...I think I'll pull the trigger on JEGS for the header gasket though. That way I just have to go to Home Depot or someplace and pick up the bolts and I'll be set for when my "new" header arrives.

Just curious...what would happen if I install the Pacesetter header/DP, but leave my stock exhaust on for a little while? Would I run into some big problems because it's so restrictive? Only curious because I was thinking I could do it in 2 parts...either cat-back first, then header/dp when I have more time or vice versa because the cat-back needs to be welded together.

I had 28% done and it read 21% on his meter. I got a warning slip thing but the shitty thing is i just had the tints done tuesday so 3 days and i got pulled over.

P hows the car?

No, I had my son with, so I opted not to go for a ride this time...if/when there's a MOA meet, I said I'd take a ride in it since they offered me to today. I know it's got to be a lot faster than my car and P said it seemed to pull all the way through.

If you go back to the last page, when I was talking to you about the tint, I went back and ninja edited the post a few times adding more to it.

mike - you are NA so restriction for a little while shouldnt be a huge deal.

the car pulls more through out all the gears, I didnt have traction control off on the hwy onramp and when I nailed 2nd or 3rd the wheels spun and tc went nuts and slowed me down hahhah. 3rd does pull more like 2nd does stock...and it does boost to like 20/21, still very drivable, if you dont get on it you'd never know. its faster, hasnt fully learned the car yet, but its not like insane faster; like a aftermarket tuner could do. but to keep warranty im very happy and would do it again. next up is a high flow catted downpipe and that should get some hp's and ill be good on power.

Its faster than jeff's sc so im good

Is that all the Stage 1 costs? About $600 retail? That's not bad at all...to keep the warranty I mean...I'd still do Trifecta or something to save some money, but that's me.

I have to work at Domino's from 5-8:30 so that doesn't work for me.

I want to wait until I have my exhaust and new suspension stuff done...so probably early May would be best for me.

I have the 22nd of April off to go to court and take care of that speeding ticket...get a continuance or whatever it's called. Then the rest of the day to get my suspension done and the 23rd I have off as well in case I can't finish something...plus I'll be able to hopefully get my exhaust done by then.

Guy stopped by and picked up the wheels for his Mini Cooper S...such a nice little car...he test fitted them and they look like they will be really nice. He's going to switch the red pin-stripe to white and throw some slightly stretched tires on so he can slam it on coilovers. I got $375 for them...I paid $450 so I only lost a little, but oh well...I'll find some better wheels down the road...should I still do 18's or should I go with 17's instead when I find something?

18's would look nice but I guess 17's would be cheaper...and so should 17" tires.
