My 2.2 Cobalt is $400 every 6 months which is reasonable...I could get an SS/TC sedan for probably the same you're paying every 6 months for full coverage, but I'll bet if I had your car, my insurance would be more. I do have higher coverage though, not minimum's. Otherwise my insurance would be about $10-15 a month cheaper.
Im 24, i do live at home, the car is in my name, I have no accidents, or tix. My dad has had a policy with this agent since the early 70s, so we get a discount for that. None of us(my family) has ever been in an accident they were at fault for. My brother has an AWD Charger R/T and pays 400/ every 6 months, but he is 26

That's something a lot of auto makers seem to do with their performance cars in the last 10 years (under rate them in terms of power)...look at the GTO's made from 04-06...the 04 6.0 is rated at about 350hp when they were putting about that much down to the wheels. The 05-06 6.2L was rated for 400 and a lot of them were putting very close to that if not more to the wheels.

we will all find out at CED when its on the Dyno. From Chryslers standpoint, if they sold a car that had the same HP as a car they sold for
10k more, who would buy the more expensive one??? Thats why 2010 is the last year for the 6.1L the new 6.4L (392 CI) will have over 450 hp and damn near 500 Ft lbs. and the new 3.6L Pentastar engine will have 282 hp, so chrysler is behind on the HP, but they are catching up.

Not a bad deal then. My wife and I (I'll be 27 in Aug. and my wife turned 25 in Dec.) have no accidents...she has no tickets...I have 2(I have one not on my record...happened 4 years ago, but I did just get another one...I'm going to court to see if they'll give me a continuance for dismissal or stay of execution or whatever the hell it's called). Basically pay the fine, keep this one off my record for a year and if I don't receive another one during that 1 year time, this one will stay off permanently.

I should have done that with my first ticket, but I didn't know any better.

If I were to buy a retro styled sports car, I think I'd get the Camaro 1LT with RS package...I don't know that I would want to pay the insurance on the SS and I think I could make the V6 fun enough (plus I think it handles a little better with less weight according to Motor Trend or C&D or one of those).

I still want a Sky RL though....there's a 2010 Sky RL in Sky Blue...it's literally 1 of a kind for sale in Brooklyn Park...it has 3,600 miles on it and has a price tag of over sticker price because it's literally the only one like that. They made 8 Sky's for the year (weren't even supposed to be made, but they were)...they're all RL's and 7 of the 8 are black. 3 of the 8 are for sale in MN. I would do anything to buy 2 of them (1 black and the Sky Blue). I'd hold on to the Sky Blue one and store it for years and hopefully it would be a collector. Then the black one would be my fun car.

The only engine I really care about from Dodge is the 6.7L Cummins...have to support my wife's work...she works for Cummins Power Generation in Fridley...but they do generators there, the Ram's engines are done in Indiana I think.

There is an article in Aprils Road and Track (page 48), Jay Leno made a Twin Turbo V6 Camaro which makes 425 Hp

Yeah, I've seen it...I wouldn't do that much...I would probably just do all the bolt-ons and a tune and be happy with it.

I now have $750 in my "fun" account since I sold my wheels yesterday (my SC account)...so I only have another $2250 to go roughly. I'm so tempted to spend the money on other stuff, but I can't.

Keep in mind that Mopar lives in Wisconsin where insurance rates are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay lower than Minnesota.

Is it much cheaper there? Is that why so many residents here have WI plates and probably have insurance through WI as well?

I want to know more about them as well because I love the looks of them. The only thing I heard is one person on here (possibly more, but I don't know for sure) complained about the pass. side having stress cracks on the lens...he sent it back and got a replacement then the replacement eventually got them as well. I remember someone else commenting about the stock lenses being much better and recommending that anyone who buys them to consider swapping the lens out with your stock lens.

Hope that helps. I definitely want a set because I want HID's, but if nothing else, I may consider buying a custom set from whatchamacallit on here who makes them and sells them for $400-$600 a set. Definitely worth it and exactly what I would want, but then again, multiple times more money.

they are ok, best looking, but still have cheap plastic for the lens; this means you dont want to run I think its hid's over 55watt, or they crack/spider. If you run the lower watt hid's from the start with no bulb's like stock, you are fine.

Theres a thread on them...thats where I got that info...read up or you'll have cracked/spider lens :/ I was gonna get them but I'm not in the mood for a funky wiring of hid's. so I'll paint the spare stockers I got black from dev and put philips x-treme bulbs in; brightest incandescent bulbs supposedly.

I know a guy from my vibe forum that does retrofits..could probably do it cheaper than that. I think he quoted me 200-300 for the labor and parts (not including the headlight assemblies). So you can get stock headlights on the forum for like $100. then ship them to kevera and he can paint them and retrofit them. He sells HID kits too. so idk if you want more info let me know and I can get you his contact info. he can show you example pics he's done etc.

Did you just get a ticket for having the tint or is it a fix it ticket saying you have to remove the tint?

And it was nice to meet you guys...Jeff, Parnell, Devin (even though you don't seem to speak...might have something to do with sitting in the back seat). Car seemed fast as **** to me...I only got up to about 85 by the time we were on the highway...but also having Oliver with (my son), I didn't want to put him at any more risk. I backed off once I was on 694. You guys must have been at least doing a "little" more than me though.

Jeff, you really like those KDW2's? They look nice on the car. I need to pick up some black headlights...either the Gen 4 projectors with HID's or there's a local Cobalt for sale that has 2-tone paint and other stuff on MNSportCompacts...I'm trying to convince the owner to swap me plus I'll give him some cash, but so far it's a no go.

I haven't heard anything from the guy that's supposed to check the wheels out...hopefully he sends a text or calls soon...otherwise I fear I may be holding on to them longer...in which case I will have to just buy some damn tires. See, now you can tell how indecisive I am about things...I have a plate full of items I need to install, but only have some of everything and it's like "what do I finish first?" So annoying...I think I'll pull the trigger on JEGS for the header gasket though. That way I just have to go to Home Depot or someplace and pick up the bolts and I'll be set for when my "new" header arrives.

Just curious...what would happen if I install the Pacesetter header/DP, but leave my stock exhaust on for a little while? Would I run into some big problems because it's so restrictive? Only curious because I was thinking I could do it in 2 parts...either cat-back first, then header/dp when I have more time or vice versa because the cat-back needs to be welded together.
yeah, sittin in the back seat i figured i wouldn't yell in jeff's ear.

about those tint tickets though for about 90% of the insurance companies out there they count as moving violations. i've got 18% on mine and have 3 window tint tickets... i've looked myself for other companies that just look at em as fix it tickets and didn't find any and i go through a guy now that has hundreds of companies he looks through and they all count em as moving violations. so tint tickets are the same as rolling a stop sign... and if you're wonderin, no, those are the only things i've ever had on my record so it's not like they're bein influenced by something else i may of had

how do you like the stage 1 parnell?

at the dealer his car looked like the windows were still dark...

The stage 1...mmm the added power in 2nd and 3rd (the 2 gears I use most) is pretty damn nice. It does pull harder.... I've been trying to get at some other cars... mustang gt was trailing me but took a diff exit. Then a sti and wrx were driving and I scooted in between them and both took other exits... ugh.. but it does boost harder than before for sure, throws you back a little. I cant imagine what terminator2's feels like with 360whp and higher torq. That much power though can be too much on a road course and autox though, hence why I dont care for more power beyond my stage 1.
