Rattling sound coming from the dash...
Rattling sound coming from the rear passenger side...
Loud engine and exhaust (ironically it seems the faster you drive the quieter the engine is!)...
Ride is too shaky...

Think that pretty much covers it

They do produce way too much dust. I can spray my car off and by the time I get it home there is already dust on the front rims!

Shift Knob popping off in heat....usually when you least want.
The mystery vibrations in the rear
The sunroof 'rattle' on bumps
The crappy paint job/rust on rotors (never seen snow)
...but I still love it

1. Car shut down randomly when accelerating, fixed by engine reflash
2. Sunroof rattle/squeaks when temp changes, comes and goes
3. Front Suspension rattle, turned out to be broken swaybar link and some vibration from steering column
4. Crappy paint, car is supposed to be black but in the sun looks brown in places
5. Crappy front rotors, replaced with powerslot no problems since
6. Driver's door lock failed, locked me into and out of car, replaced by dealer
7. Ticking supercharger
8. Car seems to eat headlight bulbs, replaced them 4 times and car isn't even 2 years old

2006 Cobalt LS - Automatic

1.) Rotors had to be replaced @ ~7000 miles

2.) When I stop, I hear something in the back, Probably from the trunk ( at least I think so.) Itś almost as if there is a fish tank only filed 3/4 of the way and the water is crashing against the trunk wall when I stop. Sounds very weird..

3.) Lights aimed to shine to low, had to up them a bit to see anything .. Deer was the main reasoning behind this, I couldn't see them.

That noise you hear is the fuel sloshing around in the tank. Mine does it to.

I had my Cobalt for nearly 2 years so far the only problems I had were:

1: Driver door latch failed. Could not open from inside or out.
2: Warped front brake rotors.
3: Paint starting to crack on the HVAC controls.
4: When you use the key to unlock the door. The alarm goes off. Very annoying.
5: A couple "rattles". mostly when base from the radio hits.
One was in the drivers door. Indirectly fixed with the door latch replacement.
The other was the clip next to the right rear speaker. easy fix.

Overall I'm very happy with my car.

Indeed the black paint GM used on the Cobalt is the worst on the planet. In really bright sun mine looks like a dark grey, so nonetheless this makes repairing any scratches difficult because the touch up paint is true black.

rotors dozens of times, sunroof bezel, interior paint, plastic arm pieces randomly falling into the cabin from the sunroof . passenger window so slow going up you think its gonna fall dealer just kept making excuses and replacing motors and telling me the track was to tight. when its cold foglights/doorlocks/trunk release/shifting from park makes a wierd clicking sound for a few hours and just start working. battery froze but had enough power to unlock the doors and once i started the car the key was stuck in the ignition until i had the battery charged back up. rattles and clunks randomly in the car. tranny problems. You name it.... it all drives me crazy

Interior paint chipping (CHEAP)
Top of the shifter *** popped off (just gorilla glued it back on)
passenger window slow
air conditioner leak (fixed by dremeling the hole in the firewall 10000X larger)
squeaking over speed bumps
AWFUL howling sound from the ass-end (cold start hitting reverse and then braking)
2nd Gear is WTF grinding and popping out of gear (Help?)
paint is really construction paper glued to the metal with scotch tape over it to give it a clear coat
rotors warp every 3,000 miles
belt squeals (tensioner gave out)
hits 215 degrees (f) before cooling in the summer (bothersome)

all i can think of

try using aftermarket rotors and pads...i got duralast from autozone and i gotta tell you....WAYYYY better than stock...still a little grooving and such on the drive wheel but significantly less dust and definatly better performance plus its relatively inexpensive compared to most of the other products out there

-Front speakers crapped out when it rained, the plastic inside the doors didnt seal and caused both speakers to get wet and crap out, until they dried then they'd magically work. Had both replaced
-Radio replaced 2 times
-Had interior plastics replaced for peeling
-Random rattles all over
-Left front speaker rattles door handles
-Drivers side mirrors rattle when radios on even if bass is turned down
-Rotors suck-Had a rotor warp and crack
-AC blower motor has a pulsing sound and is getting replaced this week
-Randomly stalls after making hard u-turns (locks up the friggin wheel too!)
-Right front brakes squeak when I let off the brake, have plenty of pad life left, and rotors are fine (dealer i took it too is retarded so that might have something to do with it)
-Paint is sh*t, tons of orange peel
-Rough start and rougher idle

Let's see....
there was some weird clunking turning the steering wheel when I first got the car but it was under warranty then so I got it fixed pretty quick.

Bezel keep falling off---got that fixed too

Then the problems after warranty-----
door handle clicking
rear deck squeaking
sunroof shade squeaking
sunroof frame committing suicide and breaking pieces off of itself ($650 fix)
Now I have some weird clunking coming from the front of the car when turning or going over bumps when its 45 degrees or below
Black around the fog lights is coming out

(It all hits at once too!)

Dang! I only had a few minor cosmetic fixes under warranty.

Replaced the crappy front rotors on my own.
