Steering wheel controls intermittently act up--volume up really makes volume go down, etc.--very rare though.

Sqeaks from the rear seat latches, but easily fixed with some masking tape.

Subtle rattling from front driver's side suspension.

Loud engine rattling believed to be the chain tensioner according to research done on here. Very infrequent--happened maybe 2 or 3 times in 2-1/2 years and only lasts for a couple of minutes.

I've noticed this recently but it's intermittent. It's particularly noticeable right after you let the clutch out and the engine is winding down.

Other problems on the car have been:
- Rotors warped - Replaced them with NAPA rotors instead of putting GM crap on again.
- Cruise Control set button is intermittent.
- Front suspension clunk x2, literally everything was replaced back in January and I had to have the steering column replaced again in August.
- Drivers side door sticks on occasion, won't let me open it or won't let me close it, depending on the starting mode.
- "Mist" function for wipers works intermittently.
- Insta-stain seat and door fabric

I'm sure there are others, those are the ones that stick out in my mind.

I have an 06 ss/sc, i havent had any problems to date, however, for the past two days under any type of acceleration below 3500 rpms, there is a rattling noise coming from the engine bay on the passenger side, im not sure what it is, but to me it sounds like gargling liquid

You are very lucky to have a good 06 with no problems.

My 06 is a POS , What a disgrace this car is to the Chevy name.
Never again would I buy another one of these problematic cars .

Thats BS !!!!

I baby this cars in fear it will break down.
Face it these cars just $uck , and GM know it.

Why arent the recalling problems?
because GM will go bankrupt and they dont care about the customer.
They care more about putting the big $ in their pockets and selling garbage.

Hell with the customers

Yes Im pissed if you didnt notice.
My Cobalt SS\SC is a lemon

68k miles on my 05.

BAD KITTAYS-Catalytic converter was waaay clogged when I bought it. (3rd owner)
Engine Reduced Power-In the dealer now for it.
Intercooler Pump-Apparently mine is bad...Ill see in the morning if the dealer caught it.
Sunroof bezel is brokeski on mine too....waay out of warranty on that part though.
Chipped paint on door handles.
The fact that everyone and their grandmother feels it necessary to key my rear passenger fender. There were 2 scratches there when I bought it. Since then, it was scratched by a car in Vegas, keyed twice in Vegas and then about 5 more times in the same spot here in 29 Palms. God I hate the West Coast. No respect for other people's property. Its disgusting...I miss Kansas.

I love the car but man, Ive only had it 3 months and this isn't being very fun. Can't complain much though, I get on it quite often and I've managed to put almost 6k on it since Sept. 1st.

Would I buy again? I would get a stock SS/SC with low low miles and build that up. I'll stick to S/C's for a while. Not a big Turbo fan.

Occasional high rpm misfire. Checked gaps - they are ok. Just once in a while - not every time. But it will start at like 5K and I see one or two flashes and back off.

ESC/TC malfunction - 5-10 minutes into the drive on a cold start the ESC/TC service message will appear and the system is turned off. It comes and goes completely at random. Although if it goes off it won't come back during that same drive.

My car is an 07 SS/SC
It has 18,000 KM's on it (I don't what that is in miles but I'm taking a guess its a little less than 9000 miles)
My brakes have 50% left on them (I just had them checked last week)
However my stoping power is getting bad and not only are my rotors warped there grooved really bad. But if I have 50% left on the stock pads then how are they grooved?
Oh yeah and my rear brakes squeal like a school girl when wet and in reverse as well.
I have ordered powerslot rotors and hawk pads but because of SEMA this week the shop I have my work done at can't put them in till next week

Other than that I have had the oil changed as soon as it hits the 40% mark on the DIC, always put 94 octane fuel in and never let the fuel tank get much below half (when the tank is low you suck dirt and deposits from the tank into the fuel system) and my car runs great.
One more thing, when I first got the car and the revs got low in a gear almost to stall point the engine would kick in a bit and the car would pick up a bit almost like it was driving itself, since I got stage 1 put in it stoped doing this

here we go

Winter driving conditions:

Squeaky brakes, annoying and embarrassing.
Horrible scrunching noise when going over bumps.
when accelerating using cruise control the car gives it self to much gas and shuts out of cruise control.

normal driving:

horribly weak ebrake. you'd think for how damn hard that thing is to pull up it would hold your car on 20 degree incline.
clutch slipping.
Random CEL, code of "to lean".
clunking coming from front right wheelish area when starting from a stop.
doors not unlocking, when either you turn the car off or maybe even when you use the door handle would be nice way to get the doors to unlock.
sunroof switch all sorts of weird.
GMPP exhaust residue all over my bumper.
trim paint on the doors chipping.
NO ARM REST!!! pisses me off.

So, Ive got about 45000 miles on my 07 cobalt ss/sc .....Ive autocrossed it for 2 years....just now changing rotors and brake pads....
Noticed shaking in steering column

Buttons on steering wheel not working all the time

Paint peeling, but its more like the top coat on the bottom of the doors

Rattle I need to look into cause I hit the hell out of a pot hole awhile back
Other than that the car has been great for me

yes....the ungodly squeaking brakes during the cold weather is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention...it seems like my ebrake kinda freezes...cuz when i back up from my parking spot in the morning it drags until I drive forward and then use my brakes...
