Thanks for the suggestions, help, and understanding/clarifcations to everyone in this thread.

I'll add egt to list when i start the build thread. That and 3in zzp header downpipe combo and 3in cat.

As to my driving, I drive alright... not the best, def not the worst but of course just opinion. But it could be related not knocking the possibility.

That shop probably the best bet with the most experience with cobalts thanks to me and a few others that went there.

i said that because i didnt want to see this thread become a flame war but since u posted this i have to question it....

no derrick really did get a tune by someone else n didn't do a good job like he wanted so thats why he got steve to tune it so its the way he wants it.

understandable that u would want a new tune if u felt ur old tune was bad...but ive blown my lsj..twice...this doesnt happen over months and months...the tune was on his car for 2 weeks (im guessing) which with a tvs all it would take is 2-3 hard pulls with alot of detonation to blow the ring land...

he will prolly stick with his tvs tho. he already spent alot on that sc n tranny. so he prolly wont go turbo.
his car is quick tho when it was running.

Agreed...many people are blaming the tune, but if your exhaust doesn't flow, it doesn't flow. Tuning can buy you time, but you're still going to pop sooner or later.

i'll tell u what was really wrong with it...the engine...its an lsj...ive seen other engines run a m62 on a third of the pressure get more gains from it with no type of cooling solution running 200 degree iat's and have higher compression pistons
