I'll go back when my car is back up, and I'll run 12's, and personally hand you a copy of the vid on a CD so you can keep it to show yourself whenever you think about how slow these cars are.

Send us your car and I'm confident we could handle it. But only 13's?

Only when you say it can't be done. I've run 13's with the car not really in great shape, if you'd like to send me all that money you make, to finish my repairs faster, I'd be glad to provide the vid sooner. Moroso is closed now anyway, so it makes little difference.

So no high temp paint will really have an effect on the header?

It should help out somewhat. I'm gonna try and prep the metal really well and use the VHT 1500 degree paint. Then I'm gonna try and "bake" it on like the can says by running the engine for a couple mins then shutting off. Repeat this a couple times, then go for a ride. That should cure it better... I'm not looking for performance gains, I'm mainly just interested in keeping it protected from rust and looking decent. I'm also gonna do their 3" exhaust and opt for stainless FTW!..

The only way to get that stuff to work is to bake it in the oven for an hour or longer like it tells you. You can't get even controlled heat from running the engine. I did my DP with that stuff, and it didn't last at all.

We sprayed the header with 1400 degree ceramic paint. Probably 3 coats. It was peeling off by the time I had driven the car to the dyno just 20 minutes south. The ONLY coating which will withstand the heat and last is 100% ceramic. I have never used the VHT paint so I can't comment.

I did use the VHT, I painted up my downpipe, let the car idle for a while, drove it lightly around the neighborhood to let it get warm, and parked it. Next time I looked, in a couple days, almost all the paint had flaked off.

Well how long did it have to dry before putting it on? May it not have cured fully?

Its dry almost immediatly, but you have to bake it on to make it stick, and even then its hit or miss. You need a real coating to work on exhaust parts.
