And you find the same **** on clubrsx , goat forums , or anywhere else there are men with fast cars and no dinks..
Everywhere there is a car forum that allows racing, you will see people spreading it on thick... I wouldnt single out cobalt owners anymore that I would , lets say, over confident evo drivers...

The viper I do remember and I conceed that it was weak. My brother in law has an SRT-10 Mamba edition. Even with my mods and tune I get beaten down silly like a stepchild. I went for a rip in a twin turbod 1500whp srt-10 and my eyeballs caved in. Seriously, it hurt after...I played FB (14 years playin ball' including college) and the launch hit me that hard... lol That guy (a DR.) has since totalled it coming back from a meet down in Arizona. He wanted to drive it back. He's part of the ontario viper club and I get out with them every once and a while.... I am just a ******* pylon.

The other forums Im on like caliberforums.com and evolutionm.net have little to no threads like this. Hell the stickys on the evolutionm.net are more useful than ANYTHING I have ever seen on this site. Those guys really know their **** down pack, and there is virtually no flaming AT ALL. The mods are very strict and the people are super helpful.

Hell, after I posted a build idea thread a local vendor PM'd me saying they would help AND a member on the forums running the setup I want also PM'd me info and his phone number for any questions I had. You would never get this on css.net, especially being a newbie.

http://forums.evolutionm.net/evom-newbie-faqs-forum-61/

look at the stickies in the newbie forum. COMPLETE AWSOMENESS.

But yet you still hang around here. So, someone blew some smoke up yer **** and now you're all tinkly ...
I "was" interested in an evo at one time. However if I go AWD it will be in a v8 truck.
I have seen **** fly on both those forums, quite a few times. They are not immune to BS, you just feel that way just cause another member whats to touch your 'engine'...
I hear it starts that way over there. Some guy offers to build up your "Engine", then you show up at his garage only to see him standing there naked...

I stay on here because I still like the people, and the offtopic is amazing. Plus some of the debates are pretty damn funny.

Anytime u want to convert to the darkside ( evo or wrx ), there are plenty of cool people ready to help.

/\ I need clearance up here. AWD alone wont cut it, my buddies in STI's are to scared to drive them they way they are supposed to be driven cause they owe so much... lol
I can see me getting an old school wrex for the hell of it though. Only the Evo X lives here and for 56 000 they can pound it up their ass, thats over twice what I paid on my balt. I couldnt walk on the deal I was being given on my tc. 8000 more to go and she's paid off. March 31st I take ownership of my uncles 68 ragtop 427 vette.

Yes, I grew up driving a 77 CJ7. I have driven a wrx but I have not raced one, and it was in the summer. Boxer is the best sounding 4cyl.

evolutionm does have an ass-ton of information on it. i just get tired of a lot of the members, a lot of them get annoying. for example...i started a thread asking where i would tap a coil signal for a shift light, and instead of a quick, simple answer, i had 3 pages of people asking me why i want a shift light, and why i can't just drive by sound, and learn to drive better. I can out-drive most people i know, i just LIKE having a shift light. My point is that it doesn't matter why the **** i want it, just answer my question. Visiting evoM is like living in the Third Reich. you can't have your own opinions without getting beaten down, or questioned until you're ready to scream. they are more judgmental than helpful imo. now granted, i can't speak for every member on the site, but the ones i have come into contact with are ****-sticks. evoxforums.com has much more of a css.net feel without all the bullshit. i pretty much use evoxforums for my questions, and evom for the stickies. if it wasn't for the massive amount of how to's and stored info on evom, i'd tell them all to suck a bag of dicks and i would leave. evom doesn't have threads like this because you get reamed for thinking outside of the "typical evo owner" box.

6 million people ??? in a previous post you said you lived in a poverty stricken city of 175k people?? you make no sense.

Not that I am driving around everyday looking for street races but damn not a whole lot to choose from here .. People just don't take pride in their cars around here its either all trash ghetto whips or super modified supras evos srt's Sti's brand new camaros ( who these people are so affraid to drive around here because everyone gawks at them about hitting telephone poles because they havent seen much .. few cobras around and some shelbys

one guy has a green bullet mustang I never even heard of em till I looked it up so..

Its either a rust bucket or full blown set ups here no middle class ... I just take the oppertunity if it comes my direction lol

I mean you will drive around seeing nothing but rust buckets then you will see ferraris zr1's lambos .. I mean it is possibly the weirdest place I have ever seen as far as cars are concerned .. we gotta drap strip here and I think most people are into bracket racing here .... I am not into that style it just doesn't float my boat..

well thats great and all but your missing the whole point of my post. an evo/sti has way more potential to be faster than your car.

The stock tune on the evo x is garbage...they only dyno about 240ish to the wheels, and they weigh 3550 pounds. i went and got a stage 0 base flash from AMS for $500, and beat that same friend of mine by a car and half from the same 40 roll. Just that flash put me at about 295-305awhp, up about 60 over stock. made all the difference in the world. bone stock evo x with just the ams base flash, i wuss launched my car at 3k rpms (instead of the 6k) 2 step, and ran a 13.8 @ 102. had I launched the car off the 2 step, that would have been a low 13s pass, with only a flash. I still have stock weight, stock exhaust, everything. once i get my exhaust system, and get another reflash to accomodate my intake and exhaust mods, my car could pull a high 12. it's definitely a solid platform, and is an absolute blast to drive on a daily basis. i just got some new continental extreme contact DWS all season tires for winter...and i cant wait to drive the evo in snow!

I miss my cobalt, being my first car and all, but the evo is such a sweet car. The cobalt SS is still the best bang for your buck for performance, and yes it's very easy to make a cobalt faster than my evo...but the evo is still in an entirely different league. every car has its place in the market, and i honestly dont regret buying either of them.

now why can't more people think like this instead of endless pissing contests?

i skiped all of this. i guess what i was saying 1badss/sc was that i read it as (fastest 1/4 mile/handeling car for the money) which IMO you could buy a 240/MK3 SUPRA/GTR/MR2/ so forth for cheaper and make faster for cheaper kind of idea. only thing that turns me off about a evo (8-9) is the price. But you pay for what you get.

I definitely see your point with the numerous other cars that could be made faster for cheaper. that's why i always use NEW cars for "bang for the buck" comparison. The reason being, is that there are tons of cars you can buy used and make them fast, like the ones you listed. however, somebody buying a premodded 500hp used cobra for 25k isn't on the same level as somebody that bought a NEW cobalt ss. That's why i dont compare it, because it isn't fair to compare used vs. new when talking about value. You can buy a motorswapped civic hatch that runs 12's for 5k, but that doesn't mean it's a better deal than a 23k cobalt, or a 35k evo. if you are only going on speed vs. price, then yes, it would be, but it's still a 15 or so year old car with zillions of miles that is quick because of a motor swap. At the end of the day...you're still driving home in a 5k car. not that there is anything wrong with it...but that's why i dont throw used cars in with new cars, because you can argue "best deal" until you're blue in the face, and nobody ever wins.

I agree u can make cars faster for cheaper in the 1/4 mile or from a roll. What I was getting at though is those cars arent AWD, and wouldnt hndle as well in other conditions instead of going straight fast. Yes, u can take a $500 civic, and make it run 11's with 3k. However, u cant take that same civic and run it on a dirt course, and it wouldnt handle as good around an auto-x. No other cars have the same advanced AWD system in them as the sti and the evo. This is why u buy them. If they were FWD, or even RWD no one would pay the price for them or probly consider buying one really. Thats what makes them desireable. The advanced AWD system u cant buy in any other car.

True. It all depends on what your goal is for the car. Not a lot of people plan on dirt racing their cars, but for those that do, you cant beat awd. As far as winters up here, I have a good beater and it stops just fine. If someone comes sliding through and slams into me, at least I can have a good laugh, clear out the glovebox and call a taxi.lol. I would love another awd Cj7 and plan do buy one for next winter... That's what you need up here when youre hitting the hills and the white **** is fallin... In the summer, my fwd slobalt is a lot of fun on the road course for lapping days and suffices for now. Passes a lot cars, even those awd ones :P

to be fair, a awd car doesnt automaticaly make it good at handeling, AWD tends to understeer alot..and 240's would handle great with the right mods

but i see your point, the evo can be made fast and still reliable.

understeer? What is this understeer u speak of?

ACD covers that . I never knew there was so much to the mitsu and sti AWD tranny's until I read this:

http://www.mitsubishi-cars.co.uk/features/ayc.asp

Both cars have a lot of nanny features. Me and my friends joke that the car is so easy to drive it practically drives itself.

ACD only really aids in grip, not to counter under/over steer. The car will still "push" if you enter a turn to hot. The ACD is just a fancy LSD between the front and rear. AYC is what gives you your under/over steer. No US models had AYC integrated until 2008+.

Subaru's DCCD is a driver or computer controlled torque split between front and rear. The % of split varies by MY of STI iirc. The Mitsu system is always 50:50.
